About this property

Annie's Cottage. A pretty chocolate box style cottage with lots of character.

Annie’s Cottage is charming and characterful with one bedroom, exposed flint walls, beams and an inglenook fireplace. The cottage can accommodate up to 3 guests in the bedroom with an additional portable bed which is perfect for small families. There is also a bed settee in the sitting room which can sleep additional guests.

Annie's Cottage is situated on a country road, at the edge of a village, within 4 miles of the coast. The kitchen in this lovely cottage is fully equipped with granite style work surfaces, a sink, electric hob, fan oven and grill, microwave, toaster, fridge with icebox, and a washing machine/tumble dryer, so you can stay as long as you like! And, it also has lots of character with an exposed flint and stone wall.

The sitting room has 3-foot-thick walls and deep set windows, a large inglenook fireplace incorporating an original baker's oven and beams. And because of the thickness of the walls, this room stays lovely and cool on hot summer days, but keeps the heat in on cold winter ones.

The lovingly refurbished ground floor bathroom has a shower over the top which is remotely controlled, so you can select the temperature and pressure even before you get in. The mirror above the sink is rather large with lights all the way around, and additional mood lighting underneath. The bathroom is usefully situated between the upstairs bedroom and the downstairs sitting room, which is great if you have additional guests sleeping on the bed settee.

The upstairs bedroom has a romantic feel with sloping ceilings and bay windows. The king size bed with a super king size duvet and generous walk in wardrobe, gives this surprisingly large and characterful bedroom a feel of luxury. There is also a double socket with a usb port for guests to be able to re-charge their phones easily.

The cottage has a lovely seating area to the front, which catches the sun from late morning till late afternoon. It's perfect for alfresco dining or relaxing whilst watching the wildlife. However sometimes this seating area has to be moved in early spring, due to a lovely little robin who occasionally makes her nest in the letterbox next to the front door. She seems quite happy for guests to use the front door, but doesn't like sharing the letter box with postman, so he has to find somewhere else to put the letters!

And finally, being able to park outside the cottage or in the spacious private courtyard, and in the summer under the lovely cool shade of the tall trees, adds to the pleasure and ease of staying in this chocolate box style cottage.

And finally, the price of the cottage varies depending on the time of year. The price is currently set for the summer, so please enquire for an exact price for spring, autumn and winter.

Manston holiday
A well appointed pretty cottage in a great central location for exploring Thanet and the East of Kent. Very comfortable and peaceful. We had a great week with lots of places to visit without having to travel too far. The owners were very helpful and the booking and arrangements all went smoothly.

The Perfect Place
I rented Annie’s Cottage as I needed a peaceful place to work. Not only did it exceed my expectations, it was fabulous! The hosts Suzanne and George were so incredibly welcoming and friendly. Never intrusive, but there should you have any problems ( I didn’t. Everything was great.) I was sorry to leave. The house, and nearby surroundings, have such a lovely vibe. I will DEFINITELY be returning. In fact, I can’t wait to! So, thank - you Suzanne and George for making my stay so productive. I couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. A perfect place, for sure.

My family and I all live in a historic grade 2 listed building on the edge of the village of Manston in Kent. It was used as a farm house for many years, but since moving in here, we now use part of the building as holiday accommodation. It's great working from home and inviting guests to stay in our lovely properties. We take real pride in making them as nice as we can, so that our guests can have the best stay possible.

Why they chose this property

Annie's Cottage used to be the servants cottage many years ago, and of course she was called Annie. It was also used as a bakery, and still has the bakers oven in the sitting room incorporated in to the Inglenook fireplace. I am told that it still works but we haven't tried that one yet! The cottage is very pretty with exposed beams, the lovely fire place, and internal exposed flint walls. It has lots of character and is lovely and cool in the summer and nicely warm in the winter. It's just a very relaxin place to stay.

What makes this property unique

There is guaranteed parking within the private grounds outside the cottage which is always very useful, or under the shade of the lovely trees opposite in the warm weather keeping the car cool. We are on hand if needed which too can be very helpful for guests to know that someone is there if they need to ask anything.
The location is very quiet and peaceful.
There are 3 holiday properties - Annie's Cottage, Well Cottage and The Chapel. Well Cottage also has one bedroom but is all on one level, and The Chapel is a large 3 bedroom house with a 40 foot sitting room, full size pool table, four 3 seater sofas and a large tv. The kitchen is open plan and designed for entertaining. The Chapel can sleep up to 10 guests, and with the two cottages as well all three properties can sleep up to 18 guests, which makes it perfect for families and groups for a special holiday or celebration.
