Private Lakefront Cottage on Spring Fed Lake is brand new construction, as well as new to the rental market -- everything is new and finally finished!! We are approximately two hours from New York City located in the beautiful Hudson Valley with all that the valley has to offer and approximately 10 minutes to Bard College. We will be open year round! The Lily Pad Cottage at Spring Lake is private and is perched over lake with panoramic views of 126 feet of shoreline with a new lake deck with tree canopy. The lake is fed by natural cold springs.
There is a long tree lined private road which leads to your private getaway and the Lily Pad is the first cottage on the right -- surrounded by 100 yr old trees. There is a lot of calm and nature... If you are looking for romance, peace and quiet or to just get away, this would be it! The Lily Pad is a perfect couples retreat, artist retreat as well as able to accommodate a family of 4. We are in a private lake community. There are no motor boats allowed - you may kayak etc. boating season begins in May and no need for a fishing license.

The cottage is 864 square feet with a covered front porch as well as a covered back porch that is a spacious 280 square ft. There are two kayaks, paddles and fishing poles for your use as well as vinyl boat and two seater float and hammock as well as gas grill. We will be adding two new wooden chaise lounges for the new lake side deck which is approximately 24 feet long.
There are two roomy bedrooms, one with a king size bed and cathedral ceiling and fan and the other with a queen size bed and both with closets. There are extra sheets and blankets. There is one bathroom with cast iron tub and tile shower combination, plenty of towels and beach towels. The living room has a cathedral ceiling and fan with windows abound with a french door that leads to the back porch where there is ample seating and lovely rocking chairs and is perfect for bird watching. The kitchen has a vaulted ceiling and plenty of storage with white shaker style cabinetry and quartz countertop along with full size stainless appliances and washer/dryer.
There is a log right by the shore line the turtles use quite often. There is also a cute duck family that lives on the lake as well as Canadian geese new babies and visiting swans, cranes deer, beavers, foxes, hawks - nature abounds! This lake is unique to the area as the water is always beautiful due to the springs that well up from the bottom of the lake. Spring Lake connects via a small bridge to a smaller lake on the other end - thus the true name is Spring Lakes.
The quaint town of Red Hook is approximately 10 minutes away and Rhinebeck approximately 15 minutes away. Milan is a small hamlet very close to the Taconic Parkway and Elizaville. Red Hook and Rhinebeck (Beekman Arms - oldest Inn in America) offer antiquing, shopping, dining etc. Bard College is a stones throw. A favorite hike is poets walk in Rhinebeck. Omega Institute, Clermont State Park in Germantown right on the Hudson River is lovely all year long and a favorite along with the town of Millbrook and Woodstock which is across the river. There are a few farms nearby as well with farm stands. Seasonal picking is available at Gregg farm. Bash Bish Falls is a hidden gem great for hiking and a nearby favorite.
