About this property

Pet friendly 1 bed cottage in Sellindge, Kent

Dolly Plum Cottage is a detached former agricultural building that has been converted into a delightful 1 bed cottage and is ideally situated to explore the many attractions located in this beautiful part of Kent.
Just off the beaten track but with quick and easy access to the main road and motorway
Standing in its own grounds the front door leads to a bright living area with a bathroom off to the front and a modern well equipped kitchen to the rear, overlooking the large private garden. A narrow wooden staircase leads to the double bed on a mezzanine level - please note this sleeping area is not therefore suitable for those with mobility issues. There is also a double bed settee in the living area.
Off road parking is available next to the cottage and patio furniture and BBQ are available.
Only a few steps from the front door is the first of many footpaths that will lead you into the Weald of Kent or if you prefer to venture further afield, EuroTunnel & Ferry Ports are only a short drive away for a day trip to France not forgetting that it’s just a 40min train journey from Ashford station to London.
Pet friendly. Please inquire before booking if you wish to bring your pet.
Welcome basket on arrival
All of the energy/heating supplied to the cottage is electric. Due to the huge increases in Electric charges we have introduced a fair usage policy to cover excessive use of heating and electric vehicle charging.
Upon your arrival and departure a meter reading will be taken, a £15 per day allowance will be given which should cover most people's needs. Anything above this will need to be paid at departure or deducted from any deposit.

Quiet and comfortable country stay
We wanted a quiet place over Christmas and this venue is ideal for those who peace and quiet. The bathroom and kitchen are both excellent is size. The kitchen has everything you need. We didn't play any of the well-stocked games as we went out to places one of us was brought up in, then visited family. The chickens are wonderful.

Fabulous little cottage in Ashford
We really enjoyed our stay here. Had everything we need, the owners Mark and Gill even left us snacks as we unpack. My kids felt sad upon leaving as they also enjoyed feeding the chicken. Thank you so much!! Had a really great time! We definitely book again!

Beautiful cottage that has everything you’re looking for
We had a wonderful couple of days in the cottage. It’s super spacious, very neat and equipped with everything you need. There are lots of animals in the neighbourhood which our child enjoyed greatly. Mark was a wonderful host and very responsive. We especially enjoyed the chickens and the garden.

Host profile image
Mark & Gill moved to Kent in 2010 following many years serving abroad in the armed forces. Since our 3 sons left home we have been able to indulge in our interest to have a small plot of land where we could try to live "The Good Life". We have had a wide variety of pets and currently have 3 dogs and welcome all house trained pets with well behaved owners!

Why they chose this property

Just minutes from the main road and good access to the motorway yet in a secluded country position with its own large private garden. We fell in love with the cottage when we were looking for a small plot of land to grow our own produce and keep some chickens.

What makes this property unique

Dolly Plum Cottage is like a tardis – at first sight it appears quite small, but the open beamed ceiling and windows to 3 sides of the lounge makes it feel a lot larger on the inside although retaining its character – the mezzanine bedroom definitely gives it a romantic feel!
