About this property

Bright & Updated Walloon Lakehouse w/ /AC!

This newly remodeled lake house on Walloon Lake is located in beautiful North Shore and just minutes from Lake Michigan! It offers a bright open floor plan with high ceilings and views of this majestic lake from the kitchen, dining area, living area, and built-in desk area. Guests have been thrilled with the modern look, updated furniture/bedding, and all the amenities you could ever need including an expansive deck for dining, entertaining, and grilling (with the gas grill).
The interior highlights the view of the lake and you feel like you are on the lake from the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The raised ceilings and skylights make it feel spacious, light, and as if you are outdoors. Fabulous views of Walloon Lake can be seen throughout and enjoyed fireside by the lake as well. Lake access, a sandy beach, and private dock are just steps from the expansive deck in front of the cottage. There are plenty of fun water toys close to shore including kayaks, canoes, paddleboard and an expansive dock for boats. Our easy "drop-in" ramp is great for bringing your own boats (if you prefer).

Crisp, Clean, & Comfy!
We love this extremely clean (could be called hypoallergenic) Walloon cottage with all the modern amenities including air conditioning, new appliances, and airy skylights that open via solar remote. The views from the open and bright living area make you feel like your on the lake and you are only steps away from the water/dock/swimming. Just out front is a scenic walking road along the lake and a huge deck for dining/entertaining. All of the bedding and linens are new/fresh and the comfy king size bed with overhead fan provides the perfect setting for comfy night sleep. The bunk room with night lamps is perfect for kids and an extra guest or two. This cottage is perfect for a family looking for an updated, modern, and clean cottage that has everything you need (without the things you don't:) It's the perfect spot for focus on having fun with your family/guests on Walloon Lake!

Lovely Cozy Cottage On The Lake
My husband & I feel so fortunate to have found this great cottage in which to spend our week long vacation. The cottage is lovely inside with everything you would possibly need. It was clean & spotless. The wood floors were beautiful, the living dining area was bright & airy, the bed was very comfortable. It was pleasant to sit outside on the deck or the dock & read, or just enjoy the scenery. The lake water was crystal clear and sandy. We saw a number of beautiful sunrises, and one night, captured the most beautiful double rainbow on film. We spent a day on Mackinac Island where we took a horse drawn carriage ride. We climbed the Sleeping Bear Dunes. The beach in Petoskey State Park was great for finding Petoskey stones. The Barrel Back Restaurant in Walloon is a must for great scenery & good food. Our week at Lake Walloon came to an end much too quickly, but we are hoping to return next summer to this wonderful cottage with the great views. The owner of this cottage, Jen, was wonderful. Jen promptly replied to any questions, and gave us plenty of information on things to do and see in the area. We would definitely recommed this cozy cottage to anyone looking for a place to relax or to see some wonderful sites.

Winter Ski Retreat
We come to the Petoskey area every year around New Years to ski and relax and always rent houses in the area. Walloon Lake is right in between both of the Boyne Ski Resorts, about 20 minutes to either. For our family of 4 this property was perfect. The kids shared the bunk room, and the two of us took the master. The cottage is completely redone, modern, and new. All the surfaces are clean and neat--hardwood and tile, and it's a really fresh layout. The view out to the lake is incredible, even in the winter! We cooked breakfast every day and one dinner, and the kitchen is well equipped and plenty of space for one person to navigate. All the appliances are new and worked great. We even did a little laundry, which was handy. The bathrooms are also neat and updated and everyone had plenty of room to get ready. Jen is terrific to work with and was very helpful and responsive throughout the process and even checked in with us while we were there. We've already talked about returning to enjoy the lake in the summer, and would definitely come back for another winter excursion!

Great views
We spent a long weekend at this cottage and thoroughly enjoyed the views, the full kitchen and the access to the lake. The lake is one of the prettiest I've seen and it was surprisingly quiet. We went on many of the bike paths in Petoskey and took a day trip to Mackinaw Island. We were in need of a bike repair shop and found two nearby. The accommodations were neat, clean and modern. The kitchen was fully equipped and had everything we needed to make some great meals. The views on the lake were perfect and the dock that comes with the house easily accommodated our jet ski. The owner was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating. We'd highly recommend this property.

Beautiful updated Walloon Lake Home
My family stayed at this beautiful newly renovated cottage over Labor Day and loved every minute of it. We used to own a larger cottage on Walloon for many years and have been coming up to Walloon for years. This cottage was the perfect size for our family and had everything we needed. Few cottages have air conditioning so that was a very nice upgrade. We especially enjoyed the view of the lake from the family room each morning at breakfast and the sandy beach was a big hit as well. The kitchen had all the pots and pans we needed to whip up several great meals and you can start your scenic bike ride right from the cottage. The owner was great to work with and the rental was seamless. You can tell the owner put a lot of love and care into the remodeling and upkeep of the cottage it was very bright and clean. We are planning our next visit already and look forward to many more wonderful memories as a family. The area has so much to offer you will never be bored from biking and paddle boarding to great restaurants and golf there are endless possibilities.

Walloon Lake is my Midwest home. I grew up in Saginaw, Michigan and have many special memories of time spent on Walloon Lake. My parents owned a cottage on Walloon Lake for over a decade and it was our special family gathering place. Our family is excited to continue the tradition of spending time at the lake and are happy to share our special home with you to enjoy.

Why they chose this property

This property is not only steps from the lake but provides immediate access to beautiful lakeside walks and forest paths. You feel surrounded by natual light/nature yet Bay Harbor, Downtown Petoskey and Boyne City are only 5 - 10 minutes away. You can also boat to the Walloon Village and dine at Barrel Back, Walloon Lake Inn, pick up groceries, swim along the shore, shop, etc. The flat road with water views offers a great spot for kids to bike or scooter around when not playing in the water or dock/beach area in front. A yard in back and two car garage offers more room to play outdoors and storage for water toys, bikes, or anything else to make your vacation even more enjoyable.

What makes this property unique

Our property has lots of natural light with large windows and skylights throughout! There is a beautiful walking road along the lake out front and trails behind the house.
