An excellent short stay break for a large family group
The properties worked very well for our family gathering. We did have the very best of weather which was an added bonus, making the views even more beautiful over one of the lakes. The houses are well equipped and very comfortable. General facilities are as described and good. However, we didn't appreciate the enormous list of what not to do! We booked the two properties for a large family gathering, understanding that these two properties are often let for such a purpose. Once booked the information sent was exhaustive about not taking items between the houses under any circumstances! Nearly impossible to achieve if your group wants to be sociable!! We paid good money and hope that if one glass is found in the wrong house it doesn't jeopardise the deposit. We were told the houses have different cleaners and therefore the issue of items in the wrong house could not and would not be sorted. It should be on the basis that all reasonable efforts are made to put things back but not leaving us, the client, stressed over this situation throughout the stay.

Location for large family celebration.
We had a large family gathering to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary. The family ranged in age from 3 years to well over 70 years!! The accommodation was perfect for all our needs . As we brought our own dinghy and paddle boards it was good to have an easy launch area at the bottom of the garden. We also utilised the canoe provided which was excellent. The properties were clean, warm , comfortable ,well presented and well equipped. Simply stunning views from the living rooms and the balconied bedrooms. Perfectly peaceful surroundings. We will re-book for a future break. The tv room on the top floor of number 24 was ideal for the older children to escape to. The views from there were just amazing. Advice to anyone bringing small children would be to bring buoyancy aids for them to wear whilst playing on the grass, as it is very near to the edge of the lake. The swimming pool was a bonus when the weather was poor. The walks round the estate I am sure would have been beautiful, but sadly we had to abandon ours on two attempts due to very muddy conditions following weeks of rain. Altogether a lovely break. Thank you.
