About the property

3 Bedroom, 2+ Bathroom, Spectacular Views & Design And Complete Privacy

This gorgeous home on 50 acres of ocean-front property has been featured in numerous international publications for its interior design and spectacular location. A modern version of classic Cape Breton architecture, the open-plan and informal home features wall-to-wall windows and a wrap-around deck to take in the 360 degree views of ocean, rugged coastline, Margaree island, and tree-covered rolling hills. Experience all of the natural beauty and incredible wildlife Cape Breton has to offer — sunsets over the water, sunrises over the hills, whales swimming off the coast, eagles and hawks flying overhead, moonlit evenings, and fields strewn with wildflowers and berries. Complement your experience with modern amenities such as Wifi, Sonos system with interior and exterior speakers, washer and dryer, a fully equipped kitchen, as well bikes and kayaks to explore the area and a telescope to take everything in. The house sleeps up to 8 in 3 bedrooms: a king bedroom, a queen bedroom and a bedroom with 4 twins. There are two bathrooms with views of the water (a breath-taking bathing experience!) plus an exterior shower with views of the coastline and hills. For more description and photos of the house check out the magazines in which it has been featured: New York Times (US), Oprah Magazine (US), House and Home (Canada), Chronicle Herald (Canada), Country Style (Australia), Elle Decoration (UK), Hachette Home (Italy), Interior Magasinet (Norway), Living at Home (Germany), and Prima Maison (France).

Local attractions and activities abound — whether it be relaxing on the beach, hiking, golfing, touring, enjoying local ceilidhs and square-dances, whale-watching, exploring Acadian and Celtic cultures, fly-fishing, sailing, kayaking, discovering local crafts — within one hour of the house. We are 1/2 a mile from the fine sands and Gulf-warmed waters of Chimney Corner beach (the quiet waters make it perfect swimming for children and adults alike), 10 minutes from the Cabot Trail, 15 minutes from Cabot Links golf resort (listed on both Golf Digest’s and Golf Magazine’s “World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses”), 40 minutes to the entry of the Highlands National Park, 10 minutes from the Margaree river and fly-fishing, 15 minutes to Inverness’s 2.5 mile sand beach and boardwalk, and 60 minutes to the town and lakes of Baddeck, Alexander Graham Bell’s summer residence.

Beautiful experience.

  • 5 of 5

My only hesitation to write this review is purely selfish, if to find the house already booked when I may want again for the future, as definitely hoping to return. The house was pristine and clean, perfectly outfitted with simplicity and style for every comfort, and the hilltop setting with such rare ocean and coastline views, for anywhere in the world. Truly exhilarating, just to be there.

Thank you Alexandra! (Please don't tell anyone).

Stunning house and views

  • 5 of 5

This house is beautiful by any metric. Every last detail and furnishing appears thoughtfully done, and it feels great just to be in the space. The views of the ocean (including sunsets over the ocean) and the surrounding landscape are incredible. The house is clean, comfortable, organized and set up well for guests, so arriving and settling in is easy. This is really a special place and would be hard, if not impossible, not to love.

Amazing views.

  • 5 of 5

Lot's of space. Arrived to a very clean home. Interesting architecture. Saw hawks every day with awesome sunsets. House was on top of a hill with amazing views. We would recommend to others. The beach is not fair away. Inverness golf course had two good restaurants. instructions to the area and details were very helpful.

A Place Like No Other

  • 5 of 5

Breathtaking was our first thought when we arrived at this magical spot. Even our “very hard to impress” teenager was excited. The location is something out of a romantic novel, think windswept and wildflowers. The land is refreshingly unspoiled and I would venture to guess it offers the best views in the entire area. The home is simply beautiful. The colors and furnishings are lovely and it was immaculate. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We are a family of four and there was plenty of space to spend time together and apart. The main living area made it really fun and easy to cook together, play board games or my favorite, just sit and gaze at the sea. The house is incredibly efficient and organized which made our stay very easy. Alexandra was quick with responses, accommodating and informative. Some of the activities we enjoyed were fly fishing for salmon, visiting several beautiful beaches, hiking (we saw a moose!), touring Glenora Distillery, trout fishing, Panorama Restaurant at the Cabot Links Golf Course and breakfast at the Dancing Goat. Although we've traveled to Scotland and Iceland in the last few years I can still say that this is "A Place Like No Other". If it was possible, I would have never left. It is truly that beautiful.

House with a 360 degree view

  • 5 of 5

This property combines all you would want in a vacation home. To start, the view is unique. All you see is ocean, sun, moon, stars and rolling hills from high above. The privacy of the house and its high elevation over all of its surroundings is unique and provides outstanding views.

The house is simple, well decorated and makes full use of the viewing opportunities. The living room-kitchen space has 13 large windows and one glass double door.

The wind is constant and brings plenty of fresh air inside when windows are open. Great for sleeping.

This house is not equiped with cheap stuff you typically have with rentals. Its fully stocked with the personal items of the owners. Love and care went into furnishing the house. And it shows.

Nice beach 2 minutes away by car is great too. 20 minutes away is Canada's only true links golf course. We played it 6 times and it would rank highly even in Ireland or Scotland.
