About this property

Luxury Cottage in Little Walsingham, ideal for the North Norfolk beaches

The Old Gatehouse is a beautiful, listed house with charm and character, in the historic village of Little Walsingham, close to the Black Lion Pub and the Abbey.

It's an ideal getaway for 2 families, or a group of friends and is also cosy enough for retreats and holidays if there are just one or two of you.

Well behaved dogs are welcome on request

The property has been beautifully furnished and there are many period features. Downstairs has a well equipped kitchen, a lobby / reception room with TV, DVD player and sofa with a log burning stove, and a large comfortable sitting room with log burning stove in an inglenook fireplace.

There is a conservatory dining room looking out over the walled garden which seats up to 12 plus a utility room and shower room.

Upstairs are four bedrooms - the master bedroom with dressing area and en suite bathroom, a triple and a double bedroom and a 4th bedroom with bunk beds. There is plenty of room for an additional z bed on the floor of the triple room, bunk room or master bedroom. There is also a family bathroom.
Outside there is a wonderful enclosed, walled garden and a library / play room.

The cottage has oil fired central heating & wood burning stoves in both the ground floor living spaces. Wifi is provided.

Bed linen and towels can be hired or you can bring your own. In peak season, (summer holidays) we rent the house for a minimum of 7 days with a changeover day on a Friday.

We regret that from Spring 2020 can no longer allow pets at the property

Magical place
Wonderful house, very comfortable, and a surprisingly big garden for being right in the centre of town, which was a bonus. Excellent communication at all times.

Great stay!
A great weekend in Walsingham! The property is beautiful, comfortable with well managed facilities! Even with some cleaning issues which the host was open and considerate towards, the stay was still fantastic and I recommend all to stay!

Fabulous property
We loved the quirkinesses of this beautiful house in Walsingham. Everything was perfect for us from the set up of the rooms to having tea and coffee and other ingredients in the kitchen we were able to use. A very enjoyable stay.

We are a family from Cambridge who bought this house as a weekend and holiday getaway. It's a home from home for us.

Why they chose this property

It is so close to the best that Norfolk can offer - beautiful beaches of Holkham, fish and chips at Wells, crabbing at Blakeney and amazing cycling and gastro pubs. What more could we ask?

What makes this property unique

The house is situated in a vibrant village, with the local shop and pub just a stone's throw away. Little Walsingham is truly unique and is a wonderful ancient pilgrimage town,
