Exceptional property
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in this cottage .It was extremely well equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable stay, Very clean and well decorated with comfy beds and a great shower. We also loved the outside seating and dining space behind the cottage .Could not fault this in any way, and will certainly book again if we are in the area.

Our stay in Buxton
The cottage is lovely. Very clean and very quiet. We had problems finding it though, because it is so remote that our SatNav couldn't find it at all. The instructions were not detailed, so our host had to guide us on the telephone. We advised him to give guests the coordinates to help them find his lovely holiday home.

A Wonderful Retreat
We loved our stay at the farm. Neil and his family made us feel very welcome. They answered all our questions about the farm and animals. The kids were able to help with farm chores, and we all pet the sheep and dogs. There is also a zipline for those willing to go flying across the yard. My kids loved it. They can’t stop talking about the whole visit. As for the property, it is gorgeous - lush fields surrounded by stone walls, historic homes and farms, sheep and cattle grazing all over. The cottage has views of it all. Just as important, it is the best appointed VRBO we’ve stayed in. We didn’t want for anything, and it was spotless. Neil and his family have thought of everything. If you want an amazing retreat, in a beautiful location, this is the place. We will definitely be back.

Dorota, Neil and family would like to welcome you to Fernyford. Big Fernyford Farm is an upland stock farm. We are proud of our Swaledale sheep, Valais Blacknose sheep and Belted Galloway cattle. These animals are our passion.
Fernyford Farm is a traditional farm, and we love living here. This is a great part of the world, and we would really enjoy being able to share it with our guests. So, we look forward to welcoming you here on the farm! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you!

Why they chose this property

Fernyford Barn is a real escape to the country. Peaceful, luxurious and ideally located to explore the Peak District. You can walk, cycle, bird watch or explore the farm. Visit amazing local attractions and towns like Buxton, Chatsworth or even Alton Towers or simply rest in the Barn with a good book and a glass of wine. Fernyford offers a perfect balance between being able to completely unwind, or, if you prefer, getting involved with the day to day life of a working farm! We are more than happy to offer our guests the opportunity to experience seeing the livestock on the farm, the different farming operations throughout the year and to taste quality meat produced here at Big Fernyford Farm.

What makes this property unique

Farming never stops and there is always something to see. Neil, farmer and champion sheep shearer, is always happy to share farming life with guests - a real adventure for kids and adults alike.
