About Yasmina Macalister
I bought and converted the property in 2012. It was originally a Wesleyan Church Hall and is located next to my home - so I am always available to help visitors if needed.
Yasmina Macalister purchased this Cottage in 2012
Why Yasmina Macalister chose Husthwaite
I bought the property because it is in the village where I have lived for 25 years and is in a beautiful part of North Yorkshire. The village is quiet and peaceful but within easy reach of many interesting areas and places to visit. We are surrounded by lovely countryside and the view from the cottage is towards the Hambleton Hills and the White Horse at Kilburn.
What makes this Cottage unique
The property is conveniently located for visiting all the attractions Yorkshire has to offer. Visitors seem to like the setting, the decor and the fact that all bedrooms are ensuite.

‘MORE than it says on the box’
Yasmina’s property is everything and more than described. This is a delightful cottage and perfect for our stay with two large and thick coated dogs who enjoyed the cool tiles in the kitchen and the little secure garden area. The four ‘humans’ all agreed the beds were fabulous and we all slept really well. We were all just sad our stay was so short, hopefully we’ll be allowed back. Thank you so much
beautiful cottage stunning views great pub 5 minute walk away would recommend to stay in
Top class rental accommodation
Just a short break but one of the nicest rentals we have had anywhere. Lovely house, very tastefully done, exceptionally well appointed with everything you could possibly need. Quirky layout with the living area on the first floor allowing wonderful views from the very comfy seating. All the bedrooms are en suite which is such a bonus, as is the bath in the larger bedroom. Really good area with many things to do and see within a short drive. Nice little touches like a packet of biscuits, milk in the fridge and some flowers on the table. We hope to be back at some stage maybe for a little longer. Can definitely recommend.
Fantastic family break with 3 generations!!
We recently returned from a wonderful family break in Yasmina's property and we couldn't fault anything. Yasmina made us feel very welcome and the house was perfect for the 5 adults, 2 children and a dog that we needed to accommodate. Would definitely stay again - thank you Yasmina!
Lovely cottage just could have been a little cleaner, there were a few cobwebs around the property.
Great location, great walks, nice cottage and well equipped. Lovely stay
Excellent centre for visiting North Yorkshire
Lovely setting and views. Well equipped. Very clean and comfortable. Great area with lots to see and do very convenient.
Less than an hour drive to the East Coast - Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington, Whitby
Leeds/Bradford airport 35 miles. Car recommended
Small market town of Easingwold 4 miles. City of York 17 miles. Easy driving distance to North Yorkshire Moors, coastal resorts of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey and the Yorkshire Dales as well as Harrogate, Helmsley and Ripon. Many other pretty villages and small towns within a short distance.
The village pub is currently closed for major renovation. Easingwold is 4 miles away and has supermarkets, banks, pubs, restaurants, takeaways and independent shops and cafes. There is a large Tesco and Lidl in Thirsk which is about 7 miles away. Many very good pubs within a couple of miles. Ideal location for visiting historic York with medieval walls, Minster, National Railways Museum, Jorvik Viking centre, Betty's Tea Rooms and many other attractions. Plenty of National Trust properties in the area and Castle Howard only a short drive. Many areas of outstanding natural beauty - the North Yorkshire Moors and East Coast, the Yorkshire Wolds and the Dales all within easy reach. Harrogate is a lovely town to visit for a day with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants.
