The fabulous, remote Glenuaig Lodge is on the Glencarron Estate about 50 miles due West of Inverness. The unassuming stone exterior blends in with the surrounding Munros but hides a stunning interior, beautifully designed to be in sympathy with its origins and location and fully equipped for total comfort. Whilst Glenuaig Lodge looks like a wee cottage, it is a large four/five bedroom house with three reception rooms, a large kitchen and 2 bath/shower rooms. (Weeks mostly Friday to Friday or weekends Friday to Monday in term time or enquire for other periods and possible late booking/under-occupancy reduction. Our cancellation policy does include refunds in certain circumstances - Please see our full Glencarron & Toad hall Ts and Cs). The house was originally designed for Victorian gentlemen and their servants to lodge whilst stalking on the remote hills of the Estate, long before the advent of 4x4s. In few places will you feel so at peace with the natural world. A 4x4 is essential to go into Glenuaig. Local hire available. The Glencarron Estate is in Wester Ross, a very beautiful area in the Scottish Highlands. The Estate is in the west of the central Highlands having easy access to the beaches on the west coast and the sights and activities (including golf and distilleries) in both the west and east. The estate is ideal for Munro baggers, with 4 Munros (mountains or hills over 3,000 ft.) on the estate and 8 others within 10 miles. There is salmon, brown trout and sea trout fishing on 3km of the River Carron and a large accessible Loch and also trout and char fishing on two hill lochs on the Estate. A boat is available by arrangement. Plentiful stag and hind stalking with the estate stalker is available in season. Clay pigeon shooting may also be arranged.
