About this property

Co Wexford/Carlow holiday home

This beautiful newly constructed holiday vacation Dormer Bungalow with 4 spacious bedrooms, 3 well appointed bathrooms + excellent formal/informal living is nestled in a whisper quiet rural/hilly/mountainous/farming community.
The elevation allows for sweeping views across to famous Mount Leinster & the unspoilt countryside. The home will appeal to those who seek peace, quiet, tranquillity & picturesque landscapes (ideal if you are wishing to escape from the stress of modern day living).
The property is in close proximity to the town of Bunclody (River Slaney) & on the borders of Co Carlow and Co Wexford + just over an hours drive from Dublin.

Local amenities incl golf clubs (The South East of Ireland being a golfers paradise), fishing (River Slaney), hiking(Wicklow Way), cycling, restaurants, famous villages i.e. Clonegal (Huntington Castle) & Shillelagh. Towns - Borris, Carlow, Enniscorthy, Wexford + the historical city of Kilkenny (beer & castle).

Hiking, walking and hang-gliding: Distance:The Wicklow Way. Traditionally the Wicklow Way is walked from north to south, beginning at Marlay Park in South Dublin and ending in Clonegal, Co. Carlow. The Wicklow Way can be completed on day trips, covering sections and can be a serious test of physical endurance'.

Picturesque Mount Leinster is the highest mountain in the province of Leinster, Ireland and is the highest of the Blackstairs Mountains at 796 metres (2,605 ft). The mountain is most often climbed from the Nine Stones, a landmark point at the foot of Mount Leinster, about 8 miles east of Borris.

Mount Leinster has been used in stages of the Tour of Ireland.
Mt Leinster is a internationally renowned location as well as being a multi-directional site for both hang-gliding and para-gliding during the months of March to October.

Special day trips: (A) Powerscourt House And Gardens is one of Europe's great treasures & Ireland's most famous house & gardens. Gracing the Wicklow Mountains, Powerscourt, a heritage property with a surprising difference, is one of the most beautiful country estates in Ireland.
(B) Altamont Garden, known as the most romantic garden in Ireland is an enchanting blend of formal an informal gardens located on a 100 acre estate. Whilst still little known, it ranks in the top ten of Irish gardens and is often referred to as 'the jewel in Ireland's gardening crown'.
(C) County Wicklow is rightly known as the Garden of Ireland, such is its majestic beauty in so many forms. Famous for the incredible mountain ranges that are contained within such a small area, Wicklow has many other attractions that add to the desire to explore this place, none more so than the village of Avoca and the famous 'Meeting of the Waters'. Avoca Village was the location of the very popular BBC television series “Ballykissangel'.

Lovely break
Property was clean, spacious and very accommodating. Area was fun to explore particularly Bunclody. The 4* given above re correspondence with owner is just because I don't use a mobile phone for apps etc. I like instructions by e-mail complete with directions. Other older people may feel the same. Something which Vrbo should take note of perhaps.

Welcomed by Margaret who did a brilliant job in settling us in and preparing the house for us. She’s a keeper! Lots of local knowledge and helpful, so thank you Margaret! Beautiful place, lovely walks, views and blackberries on the lane. Perfect place for peace and beauty!
