Just Perfect!
Quaint little cottage in a small quiet village, perfectly located for exploring. The property was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Very nice owners that welcomed us on arrival. We will certainly be back again.

Quick stay & overall very good.
Found the property easily enough by following the directions given by the owners. We also did very well for time arriving at the property and asked if we could check in a little early and the owners responded quickly with a yes. Everything was as advertised, and the owners popped in to say hello and left us a bottle of wine which was lovely - we had seen from other reviews that it's standard practice for them and not something that you get everywhere. We made full use of the log burner as it's a treat for us and it made the upstairs very cosy and snug over a rainy, windy weekend. A warning to others who stay here to be careful on the stairs, although very beautiful solid wood they are slippery and my partner almost fell down the whole lot while wearing socks. But please don't let that put you off staying, just take care! Only gave 4 stars for location and area because the property is a little overlooked and packed in very tightly with other cottages. The pictures don't necessarily show this, but the village itself is beautiful. Overall a lovely place to stay and I imagine in the summer the garden is beautiful in bloom. The village pub is nice, but we loved the Goose far more!

New Year Stay
Lovely, well equipped cottage, very quiet, despite being in the centre of the village. Sadly, the polished wooden staircase wasn’t featured in the pictures of the property, not ideal for guests for 70+ years! Local pub, brilliant for meals.

Xmas Holiday
My partner and I stayed there all of Christmas as we just wanted a Quiet Christmas. From start to finish we had a Fantastic time. Everything was perfect. The Cottage was very warm with the Heating plus we had a Log Fire. Definitely give it a score of 10 out of 10 for Cleaning. It was also Decorated very lovely with Tree, Lights and all sorts of tasteful Decorations. 500 yards down the road was a Fabulous old Fashioned Pub. We went there for a meal on Boxing Day and it was Delicious. The Landlord was really friendly and all the Staff. If you need a place to stay in that area I would 100% recommend Acorn Cottage. Maddie who owns the Cottage was very helpful and very friendly. This Cottage is a Credit to her.

We're both born in Devon and have lived in the area all our lives. We built the house we now live in which is situated just above the cottage. We decided to convert the old barn into separate self contained accommodation. Making an ideal location for a couple seeking the peace and tranquillity in this beautiful part of Devon. We live here permanently and run our own small farm. We have a good local knowledge of the area. So if required, we are happy to give advice on restaurants, beaches and various other activities. "Most of them have been tried & tested by ourselves" Please don't hesitate to ask!

Why they chose this property

We love living here because we're surrounded by countryside with stunning views We are within easy reach of beautiful beaches, a great range of facilities with a selection of good restaurants within a short distance.
