Vila Karobel (Carob Tree Villa) is a pretty house located in a quiet road only 3 minutes walk from the cafes, restaurants, harbour and shops of the picturesque village of Vrboska. It is a perfect place for a relaxed holiday with family or friends. This light, well equipped two bedroom villa has 2 terraces, one sunny and one shady and a walled garden where you can sit peacefully, lie in the hammock or cook on the large, stone, traditional Dalmatian barbecue. It has a large living/dining area and a separate large well equipped kitchen. For hot weather there is the comfort of air conditioning and for colder times of year their are heated radiators. Closeby are a number of beaches including a large family beach and isolated coves with crystal clear water.

Lovely relaxing holiday
Property lovely, clean and homely. As ever the pre, during and post holiday communication with Sue and Bosanna were first class and informative. Everything we needed was available in the villa and its close proximity to beaches and the lovely town of Vrboska are an added bonus with everything close to hand. The restaurants in the town are very good with helpful, friendly and informative staff. We have stayed previously and this visit was the same as before with everything ready for us to relax from the moment we walked in the door.

We just came home after two weeks at Villa Karobel. We had a great stay there and really want to recommend. The house is as shown but what makes it extraordinary you only can find when you stay there. It's amazingly beautiful but Sue and Bozana care for so many details you will rarely find. You'll find a perfect household in any details. Need to repair your sunglasses? You'll find the kit. Need to sew something? The same. This is endless. But also the warm welcome by Bozana, the great exchange with both of them, also far beyond and not "as usual". So overall, choose Villa Karobel if you want to stay on Hvar.

Great house in a great location
We had a lovely week in Villa Karobel. The house is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. It is only a short walk from everything you need including stunning beaches with warm crystal clear water. The village of Vrboska is very pretty and has mostly escaped tourist development. It has some very good restaurants and a small supermarket. A brilliant place to spend a holiday!

Ein perfekt gelungener Urlaub
Wir hatten einen perfekten und erholsamen Urlaub, super und umfangreich ausgestattetes Haus + Küche. 4 Sonnenliegen, eine Hängematte, 2 Gartentische, 8 Gartenstühle, schöner Garten mit 2 Terrassen, eine eher sonnig, eine mit bestem Naturschatten den ganzen Tag, perfekter, gemauerter Grill/Feuerstelle. Vor Ort super Betreuung durch Bozana, wohnt direkt in der Nachbarschaft. Super fast leere Naturstrände/Buchten zum Baden in der Nähe, sowohl zu Fuß, besser mit dem Fahrrad oder dem Scooter erreichbar. Schöner kleiner Ort mit großem Yacht- und Bootshafen. Wenn ihr in Restaurant’s im Ort essen wollt, dann besser vorher eine Empfehlung von Bozana einholen, ansonsten kann man auch viel Geld für sehr schlechtes Essen und noch schlechteren Service bezahlen 😉. Ansonsten ein perfekt gelungener Urlaub und wir kommen gerne wieder👍👍👍

Lovely stay
This was our 5th visit staying at Sue’s property and once again very enjoyable. The property is very well appointed with all the facilities we needed. Sue has added extra capabilities and is keeping the property up to date with new windows, bug screens etc Vrboska is lovely with a number of very good restaurants and the friendliness of the locals and staff in the shops and restaurants is a joy. Already thinking of our next visit.

My husband and I bought Vila Karobel 18 years ago and our delight in the place has never diminished. To us it is our sanctuary - a place where we can relax, unwind and really be ourselves. Vrboska is a wonderful place and the local people, our neighbours and friends, have made us so welcome, a real home from home. We stay in the villa twice a year in spring and autumn as do our children and grandchildren but are happy for other people to share our home at other times and enjoy the place for themselves. The rest of the year we live in Cheltenham, UK.

Why they chose this property

The island of Hvar has the best sunshine hours in the eastern Mediterranean. The island was voted one of the 10 most beautiful islands in the world by Traveller magazine and Vrboska is one of its gems. The island not having its own airport means that it is not a victim of mass tourism.

What makes this property unique

The villa was designed 40 years ago by an architect from Zagreb for her own use as a holiday home. The design is simple but it works so well! Similar care was given to the layout of the garden which offers both sun and shade with pretty planting of Mediterranean plants and trees. Being on a quiet road yet only a few minutes walk from the town centre Vila Karobel has the best of all worlds.
