Lovely cottage with everything to suit our needs. Rothbury is a lovely quaint place with numerous independent local shops, pubs and cafes. A brilliant base to visit Alnwick, Amble and Alnmouth and Bamburgh Castle.
Cottage is perfectly located in town centre but very quiet and peaceful within an enclosed courtyard. Rothbury has a lot to offer, great shops, food, pubs, and beautiful walking and cycling nearby. We were comfortable and felt very much at home here.
Clean, user friendly, well equipped and in an ideal location. Surrounded by green rolling hills, Rothbury proved to be a great base and very friendly and welcoming.
We had a wonderful week staying at Conway House. The location was perfect for exploring Northumberland and the house had everything we needed. Peter, the owner, gave very clear instructions and also recommended some things to do in the area. Would definitely go again.
Well equipped cottage, tucked away behind the high street. Cottage was very clean on arrival. Ideal base for visiting some beautiful beaches and exploring nearby towns with walks straight from the door. Rothbury has everything you could need, co-op, a number of pubs, the best toy shop in the world (according to my youngest) and a host of gift shops. Would definitely recommend a stay here, the owner was very helpful with suggestions of where to go before we arrived.

About the host
Hosted by Peter Aviston
We have lived in the village of Rothbury and been owners of Conway Cottage for 15 years. Conway Cottage has been a holiday cottage since 2008. We continue to look after the Cottage to keep its 4 star Visit Britain rating. We love the area and our children have really enoyed the mountain biking, fishing, beaches and river walks.
Why they chose this property
Great location in central Northumberland providing easy access to coast and its castles, the Cheviot and Simonside Hills, and Hadrians Wall
