A little piece of heaven
This is a lovely gite in a wonderfully tranquil location. The gite has been lovingly created by the owners own hard work. It is spacious, cool and well equipped with living space, bedroom and bathroom all being of superior size and built with beams and local stone. The view from the patio area over the surrounding countryside is breathtaking and with a good book, a bottle of wine and a dip in the salt-water pool a very productive day could be spent. This area of France is beguiling with bastides, countryside, chateaux, abbeys, churches and markets to be explored every day and in every direction. The owners are down to earth, kind, thoughtful and welcoming people. We spent 9 days here and they ended all too quickly.

Blissful stay
This Gite is absolutely stunning. Five stars are not enough! The hosts Michele and Steve are lovely and have created a little bit of paradise in the French countryside. The beautiful old stone barn has been renovated to such a high standard by Steve and tastefully and beautifully furnished by Michele. Very large and comfortable bed. The views are wonderful and the gardens, a result of Michele's creativity and hard work are simply beautiful. We enjoyed looking at all the beautiful plants and arrangements. The olive trees were stand out gorgeous! The swimming pool has beautiful views and is kept warm by the cover which means even though we visited in May the water was warm enough to swim. The private area is large with really good quality outside furniture for relaxing and eating and a good parasol. We enjoyed trips out to local towns and particularly enjoyed a trip to the Sunday Morning market followed by lunch at Montcuq. There is information in the gite about where to visit. We spent the previous week in the Dordogne but preferred this area as it was less touristy. Only regret is that we didn't manage to fit a massage in with Michele. Next time!

Why they chose this property

Having lived in a busy English city, we love the peace, tranquility and above all the space of living in this part of France. The climate is a big bonus, with long hot summers and short winters where you can still see the sun even when it's cold.
We love this area as it is so secluded, surrounded by woodland, rolling countryside, vineyards and amazing wildlife. Yet, it is only 7 mins drive from a pretty hilltop village with all the amenities you need and with friendly people. Cahors and other places of historical interest and beauty are all within easy reach.

What makes this property unique

We searched all over the Lot and even into the Dordogne until we found this place. But when we came here we fell in love with it: the pretty traditional stone buildings, the stunning view and its wonderful position, nestled into a south facing wooded hilltop.
This is a perfect spot for nature lovers and those like us, who just like to get away from it all but near enough to the local vineyard to top up on the fantastically priced local wine.
While you are here why not benefit from a relaxing massage on site from the owner who is a qualified well being massage therapist.
