Secluded Villa with private pool and large garden

Casa Do Capitao is an attractive two bedroom semi detached villa positioned at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac on a small development in Ferragudo and overlooks open countryside with views to the Monchique hills. Ferragudo is a charming old fishing village situated on the eastern side of the river Arade opposite the well-known resort of Praia da Rocha and the market town and marina of Portimão. Ferragudo offers everything for a relaxing holiday and has an historic central square and quaint cobbled alleyways. The village is very well positioned for shopping, golf, tennis, soft sand beaches and other places of interest and activities.

There is a paved footpath from the villa that offers a short cut down to the village road with cafés, various eateries a general store and a chemist all less than a 5 minutes walk. A couple of minutes further along the village is the central square where you will find an ATM as well as many bars and restaurants. The lovely sand beach of Praia Grande is a 10 minute walk away.

We bought this property in 2017 and have made a number of improvements already. Both bathrooms have been fully refurbished.
The downstairs bathroom now has a walk-in shower and the upstairs bathroom has a bath and a walk-in shower. Both bedrooms have also been updated with new twin beds and the main bedroom now has a super-king bed.

The property is completely fenced and gated and enjoys a large well tended and mature garden. There are lovely views to the Monchique hills in the distance. The villa has a beautiful blue tiled swimming pool which can be heated on request.

The villa is attractively and comfortably furnished and boasts some extras for visitors like air conditioning, pool heating, Wi-Fi with internet and TV reception, fitted mosquito nets and electric shutters. There are sun-beds with umbrellas and outside tables and chairs for 6 people. We have also added a traditional Portuguese bar-b-q.

There is an optional additional charge for air conditioning at £85 per week and £125 per week for pool heating. A security deposit of £400 will be required prior to your arrival.

Lovely place
A lovely property in the lovely coastal resort of Farragudo. Ideally positioned a short distance away from the main hub and beach. Pool was lovely. We found it was great value for money. The management of the check in was very professional. The opportunity to pre order some shopping was liked. The only downside from our side was that other than the limited shopping we pre-ordered there were no additional touches e.g. welcome wine, hand soap, extra loo rolls, kitchen roll etc. so found we had to go shopping on the first day anyway! Appreciate it is 'self catering' but we would have preferred to pay a little more and had the added touches. But minor point!

Fantastic holiday!
My wife, kids and I had a fabulous time staying at Casa do Capitão. The villa is perfect, it is beautiful and very tastefully decorated, has everything you could ever want and more. The highlight for us was the outdoor area, we spent most of our time there offering loads of room and is private with a great view. It is only a short walk to the town and two main beaches, so a hire car is not necessary. Thank you to Katy and Paul (owners), Nicola and Rosemary (villa managers), for making the whole experience seamless. We will definitely be back!

Great Holiday
The villa is tastefully decorated throughout, and spotlessly clean. The garden is beautiful and well maintained as is the pool and surrounding area. It must be said though the pool has no shallow end and is the one depth for the entire length, while not an issue for us it could be a consideration for someone with small children. It is around 5ft deep for the full length. The communication with the management company was good and Nicola was very helpful. The location is great and walking to the town is made easier by the footpath and the end of the row. there are a couple of restaurants at the bottom of the footpath within a 5 min walk from the property. We had a very pleasant stay, and enjoyed sitting the the garden in the evening. The BBQ in the garden is great.

Our Best Family Holiday Yet!
We've just returned from an amazing 2 weeks at Casa Do Capitao. The villa was spotlessly clean, well appointed and the beds were really comfortable. The garden and pool were also great - we paid extra to have the pool heated because it was early in the season and this was the right thing to do. The children spent hours in there! We decided not to hire a car and this worked out fine. We got taxi transfers from the airport, Ferragudo town centre is a short walk away and the beach is about 15 minutes walk. There are several small supermarkets in the town and the nearest big supermarket (Lidl) took about 30 minutes to walk to or we got an Uber. We found Uber was reliable and inexpensive for getting to nearby towns too. Ferragudo is a lovely town with lots of restaurants but without feeling too touristy. The beaches were large, sandy and not too busy (at Easter anyway). We definitely plan to return!

We recently completed our purchase of Casa Do Capitao in Ferragudo. We think the villa is quite unique in that it's within walking distance of both village centre and the beach yet enjoys a quiet secluded position with a large private garden and swimming pool. We liked it so much we persevered for more than two years to complete our purchase.
We are Katy and Paul and we live in the Reading area in Berkshire. Our property manager is Rosemary Reynolds, she has been in the Algarve running a property management business for many years and she and her team are extremely professional and attentive.
We hope you'll enjoy our home as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

We love this villa because of its location and gardens. It's located in a very quiet corner of the small comlpex overlooking open countryside and onto the mountains, yet its an easy walk into town and to the beach. There is lots of outside space to enjoy both sun and shade and we just love the garden!
