This cottage is for two. There is an additional ground floor ensuite only you can rent, so please message me for prices if you want 2+2! * Seaview respite for couples in serious need of battery recharging. With a wonderful 6ft bed, ensuite, and amazing sea view from your bedroom. You have a 60 sq.m. pool, serious swimming, air conditioning, 4G WiFi, DVD and streaming TV. Relaxation is guaranteed in this self-contained haven. Nestling into the brow of a foothill of Sao Miguel, the eastern Algarve's highest peak, with breathtaking panoramic views of the sea (15 minutes distance), your cottage extends to private covered areas which include gas or charcoal barbecue and giant marble table. The views of the Atlantic and the mountains behind us are stunning, both from the cottage and around the swimming pool. You also have wonderful gardens and lawn, a top terrace around the fabulous pool and a welcome shady spot under the carob tree. This is a tranquil and ideal place to relax. The large mature gardens, with fig, lemon and orange trees and a lawn are yours to enjoy privately.
My welcome pack is legendary amongst my guests, I am a Cordon Bleu cook and it is all home made. On your arrival you will have wine, beer, chicken, hummus, chicken liver pate, mayonnaise, freshly squeezed orange juice, or what ever else I decide to make.

*FROM THIS YEAR there is the option if you want to bring friends or family to rent an extra king sized room with private bathroom and own entrance and sun terrace, this would be rented ONLY to you. Please enquire directly to me for pricing.

I am 6 km from seaside Fuseta, 15 km Olhao & Faro.

A car is necessary, although shops and restaurants are within 2 km of the property in Moncarapacho. The nearest beach is Fuseta and 6 km away. There is lots of fun to be had on the Ria Formosa, from Fuseta to Olhao to Tavira. Enquire with the owner about use of her car for a fee. You will need to find your way from the airport. Uber & local taxi's operate in the area.

Olhao Harbour and Faro Marina are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Faro Island Beach. Algarve Living Science Center and Tavira Living Science Center are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

So durchwachsen. FINCA gebucht. Diese wird aber von der Eigentümerin selbst bewohnt. Als Einliegerwohnung hatten wir 1 Raum. In diesem war eine in die Jahre gekommene Küche. 1 Bett. Schrank war im Badezimmer. 1 Ecke zum Fernsehen. Nur gab es nicht einen einzigen deutschen Sender. In der Bildergalerie war ein schönes Bad abgebildet. Leider nicht unser Bad sondern ein Bild von der neu errichteten Unterkunft. Wenn mehr als 2 Gäste von einer Familie mitreisen kann man das mitbuchen. Ich gebe bei der Filtersuche an, daß ich eine Finca und nicht ein Appartement suche. So etwas ist unmöglich und ist uns in all den Jahren noch nicht passiert seit wir bei Fewo buchen. So kann man etwas nicht anbieten

Peaceful, relaxing and quiet.
Very private accomodation with no disturbance apart from the odd visit from a very friendly Bear (not that kind). Who can be kept away if you so wish. We would normally go to Lidl and stock up before we arrive at a property but Joan warned us to see what our welcome pack consisted of first. I'm glad we heeded her advice as it kept us going for a couple of days. I'll not go into details as I'm sure it changes with seasonal availability but I guarantee it won't be disappointing. The studio/cottage has all a cook needs in the kitchen and outside you have a choice of a charcoal or gas BBQ. One fridge outside and another inside gives enough room for fresh food and drink. Privacy is high on the agenda with Joan keeping out of the way unless you want to speak to her but she is very welcoming and attentive of any requests. The pool is close to the accommodation, up a few steps. It's adjoined to the main villa but very private and peaceful - no interruptions again. Joan apologised for the weather, so I'm holding her responsible for the sunshine on our next visit as we'll definitely be back and I'm looking forward to a social drink with her because I know she's sitting on some excellent tales. Thanks Joan for being a wonderful host and look after yourself!

A haven in the hills
Wow what a place to spend a week! The cottage is delightful, views amazing day and night, huge pool in lovely gardens and patio area. Joan our host and Xana her friend are really lovely people. From before we arrived everything was sorted with full instructions on how to find the property. When we did arrive the welcome package was AMAZING!! Quite used to getting nothing on arrival, well we had a roast chicken, pork stroganoff, salad, water, wine, bread , eggs and ice plus a fab stock cupboard full of useful bits. In short, the place is excellent. Clean, quiet and simple. What more do you need…. Lovely local restaurants, supermarket 5 mins away, you do need a car. Shared G&T’s with Joan on a couple of evenings. What a lady, wish we had longer, we will be back.

Fantastic accommodation in a stunning location.
The cottage is in a fantastic location, only 30 mins from Faro airport and the charming towns of Loule, Olhoa, Fuseta and Tavira, set on high ground with uninterrupted views to the coast. We arrived to find the accommodation immaculately clean, and it included a very well equipped kitchen, 2 barbeques and a huge marble table on the terrace where we spent many relaxing evenings. The icing on the cake was the very generous welcome pack that Joan provided, which included a couple of delicious home cooked meals and enough other food and drink to keep us going for a number of days. The pool is excellent, located only a few steps up from the apartment, easily the largest we have enjoyed in a private hiring, with loads of sun loungers to choose from and amazing views towards the east Algarve coast. Joan is a charming host, very discreet but readily available if we required any advice about local places to visit. We had a couple of hugely enjoyable evenings in her company sharing a bottle of wine. True to Joan's word, we were the only guests and had the place to ourselves. All in all, we absolutely loved our stay. It was very relaxing and stress free, largely thanks to the huge effort Joan had put into making the cottage comfortable and well appointed. We like to travel to different places, but having enjoyed our time here so much we are already talking about when we can return to Casa Monte do Cerro for another stay. Thank you Joan for a wonderful holiday!

Erholung pur!
Wer Ruhe und Privatsphäre sucht ist hier goldrichtig. Die entzückend eingerichtete Unterkunft liegt auf einem Hügel mit Blick von der Terrasse direkt aufs Meer. Die Terrasse ist quasi uneinsehbar und es gibt keine Nachbarn. Den traumhaft schönen Pool hat man für sich allein - so, wie auch all die Liegen und Stühle und den Platz unter dem alten Johannisbrotbaum. Auch von hier gibt's einen freien Blick auf das Meer. Das Appartement ist besser ausgestattet, als alles was wir bisher gesehen haben: Nespressomaschine, 2 Kühlschränke, ein Hahn für Trinkwasser aus dem eigenen Brunnen - 2 Glasflaschen standen bereits für uns im Kühlschrank - Spül- + Waschmaschine, Föhn etc. Alles was wir uns sonst mitbringen bzw. am ersten Tag einkaufen gehen war bereits vorhanden: Wäscheleine und Klammern, Reisenähzeug, div. große Messer, Essig, Öl, Salz und Pfeffer, Kaffee, Tee und noch so viel mehr. Ja, und dann hatte Joan auch noch ganz köstlich für uns gekocht (stand in unserem Kühlschrank) und einige frische Sachen eingekauft. Selbst kalte Getränke warteten im Kühlschrank auf uns als wir mitten in der Nacht ankamen. Was für ein Empfang! Und auch wir können nur bestätigen, dass Joan einfach wunderbar ist. Sie wohnt auf dem Grundstück, man trifft sich aber dennoch nicht zufällig, es sei denn man möchte. Wir haben per WhatsApp kommuniziert und 2 herrliche Abende mit ihr verbracht. Herzliche Grüße an dich, liebe Joan! :-)

My main criteria is for guests to relax, While I do live on site, I create a very easy going atmosphere; you are totally private in the cottage and have the enjoyment of the large mature gardens, lawn and pool at all times. It has been likened by guests to renting a complete large villa. I always put in my famous welcome pack, with wine and beer, so little or no shopping is needed on the day you arrive, there after it is self catering.

There are wonderful restaurants and cafes in Moncarapacho, and one particularly superb restaurant, Antonio's. There is a lovely and idyllic square in the town with 3 restaurants serving tapas, lunch & dinner. Ana's is also a particular favourite of past guests.

The Eastern Algarve is totally unspoiled, and long may it stay that way. Beaches are unspoilt and even in August, and a 10 minute walk can leave you with the beach to yourself. There are small islands all along our coast (look up the Ria Formosa). These islands are fully equipped for beach fun, but also we have amazing birdlife (including flamingoes). Small and quick ferries take you out to Fuseta, Pedras Del Rei, Tavira and Armona beach.

Why they chose this property

We bought a complete hilltop and built the villa and cottage. It has a panoramic view of the Ocean from Spain to Faro. These sites are no longer available. Not boasting but it is completely unique. It is completely private, not surrounded by other houses. I have automatic gates and a security fence

What makes this property unique

Because it is so private, it feels like you are renting a large villa. The swimming pool and terraces have amazing panoramic views of the sea and mountains. Relaxing is everything, however you want to do it. Quiet or loud, it is entirely down to you.
