Oasis in the dust
We did enjoy our stay here. The space was lovely with a great riverside view, lot of trees and birds. However since the place is on a major road that isn’t paved the place is just too dusty to enjoy properly. We could not use the lovely front terrace at all. Once this road is paved this place will be much more enjoyable.

Good Overall
The hosts and property manager were great to work with. The A/C wasn’t working when I arrived so they sent a tech who installed a brand new one the very next day! The kitchen was pretty well equipped although the oven and dishwasher were not working. The furniture is comfortable and in good condition. I liked the fan over the bed especially. Wi-fi was fast enough. As other reviewers have commented, dust can be an issue if you spend time with the doors open. The only other issue I had was the neighbors playing music late at night. It was quite loud and sometimes lasted until 2 am and would sometimes start back up between 8 and 10 am. This is common in sayulita, but not what I was hoping for since it is pretty far from the center of town.

A great little place
We enjoyed this house and Sayulita. House is comfortable. The location was very convenient: 10-15 minute walk to almost anywhere. We didn't even need a golf cart. The road is dusty, but you're up on the 3rd level, so that reduces noise and dust. I've never spent a month anywhere that had more perfect weather!

Really lovely.
Sayulita is dusty, dirty, and loud. Accordion music rises from the local Mexican bars late into most weekend nights. Everyone has a dog roaming the streets. There is a crowing rooster in every back yard. Many of the streets are dirt. If dust and dirt bother you, sound and smells offend, crusty pot smoking rasta surfers make you nervous, don't go to Sayulita. Stay on a resort in Cabo. I love Sayulita; it is smudged jewel of Mexican and surf culture. We enjoyed the open air markets, the amazing food, Paraiso Yoga, and several of the local beaches/breaks. Casa Marisol is a perfect launch pad for daily surf sessions, yoga, jungle hikes and beach runs. Location. Location. Location. Its not as loud and busy as town but its quite close to everything. The house is comfortable, well provisioned, and a short walk into town. This casa is huge for just two people. The big double doors lining both sides of the space combined with several ceiling fans are ample for keeping the house cool and comfortable. I love sleeping in the open air. The bed is comfortable. You can sip coffee on the back patio in the morning and coladas on the front courtyard in the evening. This space encourages use! We suggest you rent surfboards from WildMex and leave them at the shop. This allows a short walk to the beach with both arms free. Both arms free allows buying fresh guavas and smoothies on the walk in and stopping for al pastor on the way home. A WildMex rental includes the benefit of a locker/bathroom/changing area at the beach. There are other shops but I've used them several times and can't recommend them enough. We had Kari plus two other local folks reach out during our stay to ensure all our needs were met. We needed nothing during our stay except for a water delivery which was seamless. We would absolutely stay here again. Thanks for a lovely visit! I look forward to many more trips to Sayulita!

NICE OPEN AREA ON THE RIVER
We really enjoyed the house. The open concept was great and the view out the back overlooking the river was gorgeous! The huge ficus tree was lovely as it blocked the view of the highway and bridge nearby giving it a jungle effect (as others have mentioned). Many different birds to watch. The library was great! People on vacation like to read and there was a good variety of books available. We found the front of the house (large deck) too noisy to spend time on. The dirt road in front is a the main shortcut from downtown Sayulita to the highway to Punta Mita. Very busy with cars, trucks, ATV’s, motorcycles and golf carts which also made it very dusty. Housekeeping was only every two weeks (we were there for 6) so we were sweeping/mopping every two-three days. More frequent housekeeping would have been an asset. The house is spacious enough for 4 people, so a murphy bed would be a nice asset for anyone with children or two people who weren’t a couple. Overall, a great space. Fully equipped with everything you need!

My husband and I purchased this amazing property in 2015 as a getaway for us and our children. Our intention is for this to be our retreat and vacation spot with our 5 kids! We have chosen to rent occasionally to help cover costs although we daydream about living there year round!

Why they chose this property

We bought this house because it's charm and location were perfect for our needs. We fell in love with the open layout, the outdoor breeze through the house and the fun style. It has always has such a great feel whenever we are there.

What makes this property unique

Our house is close to town and the beach it is an easy walk yet it feels removed since it is quieter on our side of town. We have much more space than most homes in the area and it is a very comfortable home:)
