About this property

Luxury in the Marigny with secure gated parking btw French Quarter & Bywater

1,100 sq ft, two bedroom gorgeous home located in the heart of the Faubourg Marigny, walking distance to the French Quarter and the Bywater. This house is unique in that it is one of the first newly built homes in over 100 years in this historic district of New Orleans. You would not know it from the outside and many of the grand details inside but modern creature comforts are a great plus. It also has a private gated driveway for one vehicle which gives extra security.
The neighborhood is full of finds. We are four blocks from the Mississippi River and Crescent Park, a few blocks away to grocery stores, coffee shops, authentic restaurants and local nightlife. We are a short walk to the French Quarter and bike rentals, buses and street cars to get around the city.
The house is fully equipped for your comfort and needs. Central air and heat, great insulation, High speed Wifi and cable tv included.
One half bath downstairs and a full jack and jill bathroom upstairs with a double vanity. If you want to relax and stay in we have a great kitchen and the awesome balcony where you can relax and watch the Marigny go by. For Mardi Gras we are in the center of local action. You wouldn't even have to walk to the Quarter to have a full colorful Carnival experience. (But we recommend the whole shebang.) Sleeps up to four, No people under 25 and loud groups, Families with children may be considered!

Made our our first Mardi Gras an awesome experience!
Wonderful host, spotless beautiful home, very well maintained, excellent location, secure safe area, walking distance to French Quarter, comfy beds, well appointed kitchen with everything we needed and more. Special touches provided by our hosts made us feel very welcome. Love the balcony and all the beautiful Mardi Gras decorations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Amazing property in a quaint area
What a wonderful place to stay with every amenity for our family of four. The owners went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. We will definitely come back there next time in New Orleans!

The Best Weekend!❤️
We enjoyed our stay so much at this beautiful home. Cara had left a lot of information of places to eat and plenty of suggestions on things to do. The bed was comfortable but the part we liked the most they have a little private driveway for your car. I also enjoyed the balcony right outside the Master bedroom. We felt very safe in the neighborhood. If we get to come back again we would definitely like to stay here again. Tena & Jeff

Fantastic property and location
This is a really lovely property. Spacious communal areas, plenty of amenities in the kitchen and good sized bedrooms with built in wardrobes. The beds were super comfy too. Decent sized outdoor area which catches a lot of sun. Well stocked supermarket about a 15 minute walk away. The property was no more than a 30 minute walk away from any of the main sights you'd want to see. Great location. The hosts were lovely to deal with and very accommodating of our requests.

About the host

Hosted by Cara R. Jones

Host profile image
Cara is a New Orleans native who grew up across the Lake and met her husband Scott, from Liverpool England, in 2005 when they both moved to New Orleans.

Why they chose this property

We searched for land and were honored and amazed to have found a vacant lot to build on. We built this home with my father who is also from New Orleans and it was a labor of love. It really is in the perfect location, in the middle of it all. You can even here the horns of the steamboat and the music of the calliope from the Mississippi River!!

What makes this property unique

One of the most unique and comforting aspects of this home New Orleans home is true insulation and central air/heat. The beds are super comfortable pillow top mattresses, the floors are beautiful too, stained concrete downstairs and bamboo upstairs. We try our hardest to make our home feel as welcoming as possible. Then you step outside and you're right into the historic city streets for all the sights to see!!
