A well appointed west coast style 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cypress model cottage

Everyone I know that has been to our cottage has always remarked...what a peaceful, serene area the cottage is located in. Our back extra large patio is private with lattice on either sides and lovely Arbutus trees. With no neighbors directly behind the cottage you will have complete privacy to enjoy the warm weather in the summer or the mild temperature during the rest of the year. You will often see deer nibbling away at the greenery...and plants! You can hear eagles soaring above and the salt water smell is in the air. Any stress in your hectic life seems to evaporate once you arrive at the Falkenest cottage which is nestled in the beautiful and well maintained Oceanside Village Resort. The renowned Tighnamara Grotto Spa is steps away from our cottage. Any activity you desire is available in the area. Golf, tennis, hiking, leisure and mountain biking, horse-back riding, fishing, swimming, snorkelling/diving, boating, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, tidal pools, beachcombing and beach activities for the kids and playgrounds, are all just minutes away from the Falkenest cottage. Located just minutes from Parksville, a seaside community with so much to offer, and only 20 minutes from Nanaimo; one of the major centres on the island. Next door to the resort is the Riptide Lagoon Adventure Park with two 18 hole mini golf courses and bumper cars. Our children love the ice cream that is served there:) We will often walk down to the English style pub called the Black Goose or across the street to the sophisticated Cedars Pub/restaurant at the Tighnamra Resort. There are many biking and hiking trails close by. The small town of Parksville is a super short drive from our cottage. Parksville has grocery stores such as Quality Foods, Thrifty's Foods, Eat Fresh and Save-On Foods as well as several liquor stores. Naked Naturals is the local Organic Food store where you can purchase many gluten free and dairy free products. For easy hiking, visit Englishman River Falls Provincial Park. For the avid skier, Mount Washington is a short one hour drive. Golf one of the 6 local golf courses. Shop at the popular Coombs Country Market and visit the famous Goats on the Roof market that has delicious cheeses, breads, gifts, pasta...and yes they have real goats on the roof!! Cuckoos Restaurant is a must visit if you drive up to the Coombs Market....exceptional Italian food.

Now lets get to the cottage itself. This beautiful resort cottage is 1170 sq. feet. When you walk in the front door you will be pleasantly surprised by the warm neutral tones and welcoming feel. It is furnished with brand new modern style furniture and décor. All kitchen appliances in the cottage are stainless steel and the kitchen is well appointed for that chef in your life:) The kitchen is well stocked with top of the line products. This includes Cuisinart 14 piece cookware, utensils, dishware, Cuisinart Pro Japanese stainless chef’s knives for 6. We didn't forget cutting boards, cookie sheets, a muffin pan, roasting pan, pizza pan, vegetable serving platter, mixing bowls, baking pans for lasagna or brownies, pie plate, Pyrex casserole dishes, hand mixer, bullet for smoothies or blending anything you need to blend, 4-slice stainless toaster, coffee maker/coffee grinder, tea pot and a kettle.

The cottage is a 2 bedroom (downstairs) plus 1 loft bedroom upstairs with its own bathroom suite. One bathroom downstairs beside the master bedroom. The first bedroom when you come into the cottage is on the right and this has one twin bunk bed. The master bedroom on the main floor has one queen bed with luxurious furnishings. The living area downstairs has a flat screen with cable and you can have peace of mind knowing you will have internet/Wi-Fi package included during your stay. The bathroom on the main floor has a bathtub with a shower.The bedroom upstairs in the loft has a comfortable queen sized bed and flat screen for your enjoyment.

Sheets and towels are supplied to you. For your convenience there is a front loading stack-able washer and dryer for your use in the cottage. There are also 6 beach towels provided for your adventures to the beach or to the recreation building that has an indoor pool, hot tub and exercise room.

During the summer, the ceiling fan in the great room will keep you cool and comfortable. During the winter, the beautiful stone tile surround electric fireplace will keep you warm and cozy. Both the bathrooms and the kitchen tile flooring have in floor heating for your comfort.

Of course, we didn't forget your dog...we love dogs and welcome dogs to stay in the Falkenest. We have supplied 2 stainless steel dog food and water bowls for your convenience. Our Golden Retriever Aida has sniffed them and given her approval.

Lastly we have two relaxing chairs on the front porch for your people watching and on the full back patio we have a patio table with seating for 6 as well as a BBQ for your year round dinner enjoyment.

There will be a lock box on the front railing of the cottage. You will be provided the details for entry in an email prior to your arrival

This is a non smoking cottage, if it is determined that smoking has occurred inside of the cottage you will lose your 350.00 damage deposit.

Check in is at 4pm and check out is 11am. Early check in may be available please ask and we will do everything we can to accommodate.

Parking for one vehicle is allowed in the driveway, additional vehicles will be required to park in the guest parking area.
Blocking of other driveways or parking in front of other cottages is not allowed - additional charges will be applied. This is strata enforced. NO RV's, campers or boat trailers allowed.

Quiet time is between 11pm to 9am.

Damage deposit is refundable within 7 days after departure if no damage or excessive cleaning is required. There will be an added charge if there is pet fur on the cottage couches and or bedding comforters.

One small dog permitted (MAXIMUM 20 lbs) with owner's approval; Refundable pet deposit of $150 if no damage or accidents.
25.00 per day for a small dog.

Cats are not allowed.

Cancellation Policy is available by contacting the owner when booking- it will be in your rental agreement.
