1 Bedroom Cabin On 2 Acres - Rural And Private And Conveniently Located

This is a one bedroom, one bath cabin located in the Flamingo Heights area of unincorporated Yucca Valley. Just one block off Old Woman Springs Road (Hwy 247) it is located out "in the sticks", but is easy to get to and has amenities that are close. The owner lives on the property in a second house.

The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, gas stove, electric convection oven/toaster and a coffee pot. It is well stocked with condiments and all the utensils you could need.

WiFi (although not the speediest) and Direct TV are provided.

The cabin is a cozy 760 square feet and has a big bedroom with a King-size bed.

Our next door neighbors, Lucy and Ethel, are sometimes a little loud, because their owner Suzie is a late sleeper. These donkeys let her know when they are hungry.

At night, you can see so many stars it's breathtaking. That is, unless it's a full moon.

This is your little oasis to relax, explore and enjoy the high desert.

About Kim Davis

Like you, I stayed in a vacation rental in the Joshua Tree/Yucca Valley area on my first visit to the park in 2012. I came back several times and enjoyed a number of vacation rentals. The Park and this part of the high desert kept calling me. I love this place so much, I moved here October 2014.

Originally from Colorado, I prefer warm weather and have spent most of my adult life in Southern California or Tucson, AZ. I enjoy the desert life.

Since moving to Yucca Valley I have been renovating the two structures on the property - the cabin and the main house (where I live).

Why Kim Davis chose Yucca Valley

This property has two structures - the main house and the cabin. The cabin has it's own patio and a little yard. The property is surrounded by livestock, including a lama. It is the rural and rustic setting that is peaceful and enjoyable. You feel like you are in the country. The good news is, it's only one block of dirt road off Hwy 247, so it is very convenient; town (Yucca Valley) is only 10-15 minutes "down the hill".

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is quite sizable - 760 square feet. The bedroom is as big as the living/dining/kitchen area. The wood burning stove, with its little window, is the best fireplace and heater! July 2016, I've added an air conditioning/heat pump unit that keeps the place very cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. The kitchen is just perfect for two or three people and has plenty of spices, utensils and basic supplies.

The owner lives in the main house and can be as present or absent as you desire.

The best thing about this place is the patio. Sitting outside when the breeze is blowing through the giant pine tree is so calming and pleasant. It's a little slice of heaven!

  • The bathroom has a modern shower that provides all the hot water you will want or need. All the toiletries you might need are provided, including towels, soap, body wash, shampoo, tissue, toothpaste, razors, a small hair dryer, Q-tips, lotions and first aid items.

  • The cabin is divided into two sections, the main living area and the bedroom area. The bedroom is quite large and has a stereo and a television for your entertainment. Currently there is a King-size bed, topped with a 3-inch memory foam with cooling gel mattress pad. If necessary, a Full-size air mattress and a regular full mattress, are available. The bedroom has a large walk-in closet where you can easily store all of your travel articles. It is stocked with extra linens and hangers.

Wonderful Cabin

I've come here twice now and have enjoyed my stay immensely each time. The cabin is quaint and lovely, but I spend most of my time on the patio watching the fire and gazing at the desert landscape and hummingbirds and rabbits that pass by. The fenced in property allows my dogs to run freely and we all always have a great time. Kim is always very friendly and responsive to emails. Would recommend for a home base for a day at the park or as a writing retreat or place to relax and catch up on some reading.

Super Enjoyable Stay!

Every thing about the cabin was just perfect. The communication with Kim prior, during, and after, as well as the arrival, were all flexible and smooth. The cabin itself has everything you need...including lots of wood in every size...and kitchen supplies to easily make meals. The wood-burning stove easily heats the living space (kitchen and living area) and the bedroom has a heater/ac unit that works well. The setting is beautiful, and the outside space is inviting. I highly recommend this cabin!

Peaceful stay

Cabin is cozy and rustic exactly what you need when getting away from city life. Very spacious and I loved hearing the faint sounds of the farm animals nearby. Close enough to amenities but far enough away not be bothered. Visited Twentynine Palms and of course Joshua Tree. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommend. Many Thanks!

Beautiful Place

Great place to stay, not far from the Park, plenty of walking around in the area. COMFY bed, the wood stove heats up the place so well. Birds around all day. Highly recommended.

Enter Joshua Tree National Park from the Joshua Tree Township entrance which is 18 miles from the door of your cabin. At some point drive out through the 29 Palms entrance and if you have the time drive through the entire park to I-10 and then have dinner in Palm Springs and head home up Hwy 62.

Pioneer town is a slice of the Old Hollywood West and home to the infamous Pappy & Harriet's. Stroll down Main Street and imagine Roy Rogers making movies in the 1940's and 50's. Then, go for a beverage and a game of billiards at Pappy & Harriet's.

If you like, play some cards or slots at the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa which is 41 miles. Or if you really are a gambler, drive only 3 1/2 hours and 226 miles to Vegas.

You must grab your swimming suit and drive 28 miles to the Desert Hot Springs Spa & Hotel and enjoy an afternoon of healing, natural spring waters in a spa setting!

The Integratron is a structure that claims healing powers and is only 8 miles from your door. But, special reservations are required, make sure you call ahead. Or you can visit where it all started at Giant Rock (12 miles - 3 of which require a truck or a car with higher clearance).

Vehicle entry is on the north-east side of the property at Wood Rd and Yellow Knife Rd. Carport parking is to the right; the driveway closest to the cabin building. Pedestrian entry is in the middle of the property on Yellow Knife Rd. Look for the mailboxes and the the green gate.
A lock box is located on the front door knob, but door will most likely be open. If not, the code will be provided, with directions and important information, upon receiving payment in full.
