About William Kezer

We are California natives, Bay Area residents, Giants fans and boxer (the dog kind) lovers. Our kids learned to ski at both Tahoe Donner and Northstar. The TD ski school is perfect for young children learning to ski. We love mountain living and are unable to pick a favorite season. We have enjoyed many large family gatherings in our log home featuring friends, family, good food, wine, and dancing!

William Kezer purchased this cabin in 2007

Why William Kezer chose Truckee

We chose TD because of its proximity to the Bay Area, we chose our cabin because we always wanted a log cabin. The cabin invites you in and instantly makes you comfortable. Twenty foot vaulted ceilings in the LR are almost overlooked by the floor to ceiling wood-burning fireplace. We love the trails in TD, the gym and its wonderful restaurant. A private beach on Donner lake is a great way to spend a warm afternoon in the summer.

What makes this cabin unique

Soaring fireplace, detailed log cabin constuction, cozy kitchen, and plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms make our cabin a one-of-a-kind vacation home.

Beautiful log "cabin" with a fantastic fireplace!

  • 5 of 5

The entire family loved it all; the setting, the proximity to activities for all ages, enough snow for snow lovers, and none on the road for snow haters! perfect!!

Roomy house with great open living area and fireplace- perfect for an extended family get together!

  • 5 of 5

The majestic mountain log cabin was fantastic. We spent the holidays there with out of town family and there was plenty of room for lots of action and relaxing. Bedrooms on all three levels allowed the young adults to stay up late, play ping pong and watch TV while the older and much younger family slept upstairs without disturbance.

The living area was large and open with a beautiful fireplace and a TV for relaxing. We were able to put the two dining tables together and feed a group of 16 easily and comfortably. Lots of bathrooms and the bedrooms were spacious.

There's even a photo album for you to see how the house was built. I'd recommend the Majestic Mountain Log Cabin to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy time and adventures with family or friends in Truckee.

Spacious cabin

  • 4 of 5

Our original travel plan was canceled due to unforeseen weather condition, and we have to change our plan last minute. To my relief, Erin has responded quickly and we were able to book the place the very last minute. She has no idea how grateful I was for her speedy response.

My extended family had a blast at the cabin.

- Spacious with lot of rooms and beds and plenty of places for kids to run around and play games.

- Detail and clear instructions.

- The cabin is nicely nested in the woods yet conveniently close to stores and freeway

- Minimal amenity, if you're planning for a longer stay you'll probably need a visit to the nearby Safeway.

- Cabin is very spacious and with high ceilings, however summer heat seemed to have problem dissipating even with all the windows and doors are opened. It's tolerable for the lower floors with the windows opened at night, however, it didn't help much for the rooms on the top floor even with the ceiling fans on.

Absolutely Perfect For A Family Gathering!

  • 5 of 5

Eleven of us from ages 13 to 70 found the house to suit all of our needs. Plenty of places to just hang out...the front porch, the living room, the dining areas, and even the basement area with the couches and ping pong table. We never felt crammed together unless that's what we wanted to do.

The kitchen was more than adequate and if you're creative, you won't notice that there may not be every pot and pan available that you probably have at home. It's a mishmash but it all worked for us.

Bedrooms, baths, towels, etc were all more than adequate as well as what's going on in the Truckee area. We found plenty of things to do during the day whether it was Truckee Thursday or lunch at Squaw Valley or a day at Kings Beach. We even drove 40 minutes to Reno for some fun!!

One note though...There was a heat wave for 3 of our 7 days with the temps in the 90's and the lows in the high 60's. With no AC the upstairs bedrooms were hot, even with fans running. It's all in the planning! We would definitely stay again but maybe not during the heat of August!

Comfortable home with very friendly, helpful owners

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family planned a weekend trip to Tahoe Donner. We were very pleased with our stay and found the home very comfortable. It was a quick drive from the home to Donner Lake. We appreciated the excellent customer service from the owners of the home.
