Perfect House
We spent another week in one of our favorite rental homes. You can enjoy a beautiful view of St. Johns river while sitting in the living room, on the new porch furniture, or at the end of the dock. Linda’s home is comfortable and one of the best stocked homes that we visit. A special bonus is the creative decor in the house. Palatka has lots of restaurants, a bike trail, and plenty of places to kayak. Thanks Linda for another spectacular week in East Palatka.

Great place
We had a wonderful stay. The house had everything we needed and everything was so convenient. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and watching the wildlife. We saw otters, alligators and so many birds.

Great View!
Convenient location, its easy to find, and just over the bridge to downtown Palatka, or 35 min to Crescent Beach. The house was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen had everything you need to cook, including some spices. The view from the living and dining room is perfect for your morning coffee or sunsets. The dock was nice to sit on when it wasn't too cold. It is very close to a busy road, so there is some road noise.

Great House with Beautiful View
We stayed for three nights. The house was spotless and well-equipped, and the view from the living & dining rooms out to the river is fantastic. The owner contacted us just to make sure everything was ok, which was a nice touch. Its an easy trip over the river bridge to Palatka, which we made several times to play golf & eat ( try Velchoff’s Corner-excellent!). The only thing we can’t give 5 stars is the location as the only way out of the subdivision is onto a very busy road which is not fun to turn east onto, and if the windows are open, the traffic noise is noticeable. Even so, we’d stay there again as it is a really nice place!

Wow
The front of the house with large windows overlooking the St John’s river is amazing. We found reading while occasionally glancing at the river very peaceful. Ravine Gardens State Park is only 2.7 miles away and provided a wonderful morning walking experience. The many restaurants made choosing lunch spots interesting. We found everything we needed in this well provisioned house and would rate our experience higher if the rating system allowed.

My husband and I have owned property in the Palatka area for the last 12 years. We acquired this house on the St. Johns River and totally fell in love with it. We have recently retired; my husband was with the Fire Department and I was a Police Communications Supervisor here in South Florida. We have served our community for many years and loved the work that we did. While we still have ties to our South Florida home, we cannot help being drawn to the quiet and friendly Northeast Florida culture that we found here in Palatka where just walking down the street, total strangers wave and say hi as they pass you by. It is a total departure from the hustle and bustle of Miami. We are so blessed to be able to have the opportunity to experience all the varied lifestyles that Florida has to offer.

Why they chose this property

It is always amazing how different the view is from the panoramic windows of this beautiful home. One day you are looking out across the waterway at a lightning storm and the next, the skies are crystal clear blue, sometimes during the space of a few hours. It is the most beautiful and awesome sight and we would like to share it with you. They call it "God's Country" here and it is so true. We have always loved the water... sailing, power boats, fishing, shrimping, diving, swimming and snorkeling; so it is no wonder that this place is such a perfect fit for us. Also, we love the distinct change of seasons that you get here in Northern Florida (mind you, without all the snow). It allows us to use the fireplace once in a while, and really enjoy that afternoon 2.5 mile roundtrip walk/jog over the bridge spanning the St. Johns River. It is breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful here. The varied wildlife is amazing and a joy to watch.
