About the property

1br /2 Bath Sleeps 6 In 629 Sqft; Ski-In Walk To Lift/Town, Central Location

River Mountain Lodge is located right in the heart of Breckenridge, walking distance to anything and everything. Common facilities include: a few hot tubs, indoor and out; a heated outdoor pool; a workout facility; and a really nice lobby and bar for meeting people getting off the slopes. It is located just across the street from the end of the Four O'Clock-Run-to-Town making it, legitimately a ski-in property. The Breck Connect Gondola is a 5 minute walk away, just a few hundred yards, so there is hardly the need to wait on the buses that stop in front of the building. If you do prefer to take the bus to the slopes, your options include the yellow, brown, and black routes, all of which access the gondola and other lifts. See Breck Freeride for more information on the awesome public transportation system, please.

The Unit:

This 2 story condo will comfortably sleep 4 people on the king size bed and Murphy queen. It can accommodate 2 more willing people on the sleeper sofa. There are 2 full bath rooms: the downstairs one has a bath tub; and the one upstairs has a shower and sky light for that natural wake up-with-the-sun energy. The upstairs does have a separate entrance for maintaining privacy, if desired. The kitchen has more amenities than I know how to use, but I hesitate to declare "all" simply out of humility. Really though, it has the amenities to give you the option not to visit any of our fine dining options. The room will also be stocked with options for coffee that is locally roasted, Frisco's Rocky Mountain Coffee Roasters; a French press and drip coffee are standard, but upon request, a stove top espresso maker is available. I am an independent manager, and coffee is important to me!

Other things...and stuff:

The unit has a wood burning fireplace for anyone who wants to get cozy after a day on the slopes, or just if you like to have a fire. Maybe you'd like to play a game or watch a movie; a tv is on both floors. The lower room has access via a courtyard-like patio to the street and a hot tub.

Car: not necessary

Breckenridge is one of the most family friendly resorts around, as noted by the toy store (across the street from River Mountain Lodge), kids clothing shops, and summer time activities geared for youngsters.

That said, we host two breweries if you like beer; we also have a distillery for those who prefer stronger drink - spirits found at most local bars and the tasting room. We are also a town filled with people who live here year round, so we have local services to match at affordable prices. There is no need for a car - our local transportation is excellent and free. Anywhere that is too far to walk generally closes before the public transport closes down, including the tourism found at the north of town on Airport Road. We also hold an International Ice Sculpture Competition every year, which is well worth the time. Other events include the Dew Tour, USA Pro-Cycle Challenge, Rubber Duck Race, Oktoberfest, and many more which I shouldn't advertise, but everyone should check out.

We have Gold Mine Tours (and gold mining), an awesome skate park, and our biking is world-class. Our Main Street shopping and restaurants are also of superb quality - reservations on weekends and holidays are essential for groups more than two.

A cool fact: we have the highest ski lift in North America; and we are the 7th highest lift-accessed ski area in the world! We have five peaks that equal over 2900 skiable acres, and the Summit Stage takes you to two other resorts for free (Keystone is usually included with the purchase of a Breck pass).

River Mountain Lodge has a ski rental shop in house for easy access, and there are many more shops within a minute's walk.

To mention again, this is a ski-in property with the gondola no more than a 5 minute walk away.

The Blue River is just out the back door making the setting what many may call "dreamy."

If I can explain why I love this place anymore, please inquire!
