The majestic Superstition Mountain is the backdrop for this serene gated community fitted into the heart of the wilderness territory. The house has 1438 square feet, and an open concept floor plan. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, which was newly furnished in 2013. The master bedroom has a large adjoining bath, with a walk in shower, double sink, and large walk in closet. The other two bedrooms are separated by the great room, which allows guest's more privacy. The eat in kitchen has new granite top counters, a large pantry, an electric stove, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and is situated at the back of the house, which looks out on an expansive brick walled, private yard. The large patio door in the kitchen provide the feeling of being connected to the outdoors, and offers continuous views of the many birds that visit, and sing. The back yard has a dining table, two reclining lounges, a new large LP gas grill. The fire pit is a feature that encourages the star gazing that is so enjoyable in this tranquil environment. The laundry room includes a new, energy efficient washer and dryer.
There are two queen size beds, one in the master bedroom, one in the guest room. The third bedroom is used as a den/bedroom combination, and has a day bed that covers two stacked twin sized mattresses, that are used for sleeping. The den/bedroom also has a desk for computer use. There is a two car garage with ample storage.
As one walks in the quiet community, you appreciate the open spaces that abound with native desert plants, wildflowers in the spring, and sightings of wildlife. The large resort pool is heated year round, and offers great mountain views. The recreation center is walking distance from the home, and features a well equipped first class exercise room. All machines face a wall of windows that look out at the Superstition Mountains. The mountains are sure inspiration for spending time on the treadmill. The recreation center also includes a library, computer room, kitchen, dining area, and outdoor fountain patio complete with fireplace.
Boyce Thompsen Arboretum: a beautiful park, botanic garden with hiking trails that meander through an expansive variety of native plants, and cacti. There are picnic areas, and special events, including open air concerts.
Renaissance Fair: an annual event that runs for six weeks in the winter.
A great family venue.
Superstition Mountains: Peralta Trail Canyon Trail is considered the best wilderness territory trail in Arizona. It offers canyon views, and rock formations that are awe inspiring.
Olive Mill Restaurant: a unique industrial style restaurant that serves farm to table, delicious fare. The olive trees that grow on the farm supply area restaurants with great olive oil varieties. The restaurant is located in Queen Creek, a 25 minute drive from our home.
Superstition Mountain Historical Museum and Gift Shop: an amazing museum rich in local history that houses maps, and artifacts related to the mysterious legend of the lost gold mine. Fortune hunters are still actively searching for the gold, sure to be hidden in the Superstition Mountains.
The gift shop features a wide variety of products that are unique to Arizona, including the famed Amethyst jewelry from the near by Four Peaks Mountain.
Art Fairs: for art enthusiasts there are many outdoor art fairs that are close by, and some one hour's drive away. These juried art shows display a wide variety of art styles, and mediums.
The old mining town of Superior: this town is experiencing a renaissance, as it fell it disrepair when the copper mining industry ceased. Now it is being rebuilt, and old main street shops, hotels, and restaurants are preparing for another boom. Very interesting look at the old west, and the mining industry.
Goldfield, Old Ghost Town with restaurant, and buildings from the Old West when the gold rush flooded this part of Arizona. Very close by.
The home is situated at a comfortable distance from Tucson, Phoenix, Scottsdale, where there are numerous restaurants, unique shops, malls.
The Catalina Mountains of Tucson is a fun day trip from the home, as is hiking in the Camelback Mountain in Scottsdale.
