Elk Lake Family Escape

This beautiful cottage/home has been in the family for 80 years. It is directly on the shore of Elk Lake with 200' of sand bottom frontage on a lot that is approximately 400 feet deep. Additions through the years have expanded it to enable 11 persons (max) to sleep in beds. From lake activities, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and playing on the raft to volleyball, campfires and watching sunsets from the shore, this retreat will certainly relax you and provide a chance for your family to enjoy special time together.

Kitchen upgraded 2017, master bath #1 2018, kitchen/ hall/dining room flooring and furnace 2019, master bath #2 2020. New clothes washer and dryer (2020). New gas stove and dishwasher 2020.

Always a pleasure!
This is a great location, the swimming for the kids is phenomenal and the owner is easy to communicate with, the yard is huge for our active kids, the area offers many activities. Highly recommended!

Beautiful Elk Lake
Beautiful location. Rustic home with lots of room for a large group. Dan was very responsive and let us use a jetski hoist for our own machine as he had an extra one. Listing was not clear that there is a mooring buoy for a pontoon boat if you rent or bring your own boat. We hooked to that and also used an anchor post for added security and had no issue. House could use a deep clean but had plenty of room and amenities. We had a wonderful stay with beautiful sunsets.

Elk Lake Family Escape meets all expectations
This is our 2nd year at this lovely lake house and it offers everything a family or larger group needs for a fantastic lake getaway. The lake views are spectatcular, particularly at sunset. It has a sandy bottom for enjoyable swimming plus a dock for boat loading. We also like the fact that it has 5 BRs, including 3 on the first floor for those who want to avoid stairs. Plus 2 full baths and 2 half baths make life easy. The kitchen is well stocked and the washer dryer are a great convenience too. Thanks again for a great stay.

Wonderful stay
The best clear water sandy bottom swimming around with extensive shallow water for kids. Huge yard, evening fires and tons of chairs and lounges on the lake side. Plenty of room for our party of 5 adults and 3 children plus dogs. Friendly, quiet location. Our 2nd stay here and one of the best rentals around.

Why they chose this property

Elk Lake is a part of the "Chain of Lakes" of Michigan and holds some of the cleanest, clearest water in the state. The sandy bottom combined with water that you can see through for over 15' makes a perfect summer playground for young and old.

What makes this property unique

With one of the larger frontages in the bay and one of the largest yards, there is no end to the activities and play that can be enjoyed. Swimmers can go 150' or more into the lake and still touch. Sunsets are spectacular as the property is on the Eastern shore looking to the west.
