About Robert Burke

Patty and Rob manage this VRBO as a team.

Rob moved from California to Boise in 1990 to work as an engineer at Micron until 2013. He and Patty met in 2007 and married a few years later. Our career now is managing our short-term and long-term rentals. His passions are cycling (especially mountain biking) and gardening, also enjoys cooking, so a well-equipped, functional kitchen is important.

Patty grew up in a suburb of Boston, and has spent her post-college life throughout the West, first working as a wildland firefighter, then switching careers to teaching 3-6 year olds in Montessori schools. Patty enjoys hiking with the dogs, running, and [more recently] mountain biking in the Boise Foothills.

Our careers now are co-managing short-term and long-term rentals.

Why Robert Burke chose Harrison Boulevard

Bought in 2011 for its location with the intent to operate it as a long-term rental property, we converted one of two units to a vacation rental in Fall, 2015.

Great Boise property!

This property was a great place for us to stay during our visit to Boise. It is located on a beautiful historic street in Boise and is within walking distance of various restaurants and shops. The townhome is nicely furnished and includes everything that we needed during our stay. Communication with the owner was always easy and efficient. We would definitely stay here again if the opportunity presented itself.

Great stay, once again.

This is a great place to stay in the north end of Boise! Rob does a superb job of making sure our stay is comfortable, even brought us bolle of homemade sourdough/rye bread that was amazing! The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed. Just a very comfortable stay. And the location is ideal for being close to everything downtown and in Hyde Park.

A warm and cozy stay during a white Christmas

We have stayed at several VRBO rentals in the north Boise area and this is our favorite to date. To be honest, we were tempted to give it a four star rating as things were not totally perfect which is what we think a five star implies, however, the glitches were small and we feel the manager will correct them right away so this property will return to and deserves its five star level. (Small number of hairs and debris in one of master bath drawers and a few missing items in the basic kitchen set-up [no tablespoon measurer and no cup measurer, etc.] Additionally, though we supposedly had access to Netflix, we couldn't actually get it to work following the supplied instructions.) The townhouse is modern, but cozy with a deep, cushioned sofa and oversized chair. Convenient laundry facility and the most closet space we have ever seen including a large number of hangers which are often in short supply. Even with a foot of snow outside and temps in the teens, we were always comfortably warm. In addition, the thermostat was easy to adjust and the gas fireplace was perfect in the evenings. The two bedrooms were well appointed and the beds comfortable. One word of caution, the bedframe corner posts are ankle breakers if you walk too close to the bedspread or turn the corner of the bed too closely. With the exception of that one dastardly drawer, the property was very clean and well maintained. Additionally, the covered carport and the lovely back yard are great pluses, though we couldn't use the backyard at this time. We used this property during a week-long visit with local family and will definitely look to stay here again.

The Harrison Townhome is in Boise's historic North End, one of the most established and nicest neighborhoods in town. It is within walking distance to restaurants, groceries, a nano-brew pub, and dining at one of several neighborhood establishments at Hyde Park (13th and Alturas).

A short drive or bike ride opens several options: Within 2 miles you can enjoy hiking or mountain biking at the Boise Foothills Ridge to River trail system, or exploring some of the downtown attractions: State Capitol tour, Zoo Boise, Boise Library!, BSU Campus, Basque Block, cafes, breweries, and theaters to name a few. Explore the Greenbelt Path - East-West bike and pedestrian corridor along the Boise River.

Outdoor recreation opportunities abound: Bogus Basin Ski Resort is 17 miles up the road. In addition to downhill and x-country skiing, Bogus Basin boasts a stellar trail network for hiking or mountain biking. For water sports, a 1 hour drive gets you to the Payette River for world class whitewater fun, from a guided raft trip down beginner/intermediate level Main Payette, to expert-level kayaking down the North Fork Payette. Blue ribbon fly fishing opportunities are at Boise River South Fork, and Owhyee River, both ~2 hour drive.
