About this property

Pristine Mountain Farm

Sleeps up to 23. Spacious and comfortable retreat (16 beds, 3.5 baths via 8 bedrooms with 4 lofts) with wood stove/fireplace, huge country kitchen with commercial six burner range and large griddle, double ovens. Ideal for large gatherings for skiing, hiking, biking, relaxing among a setting of rolling fields, swimming pond and mountain views all in the center of Vermont's highest mountains. 30 and 40 mins to Sugarbush and Killington, 30 to Middlebury, but AWAY from the crowds - this is real Vermont, not a "resorty" location on a ski access road or the like. ~10 minutes or less to the world class Rikert Nordic ski center and the Middlebury Snow Bowl alpine area.
(Pricing on this site is for house only.) Inquire for other features described including weddings.
House sleeps 23 in beds depending on couples numbers, up to 25+ with kids on sleeping pads. Organic sheets. Low/no odor natural cleaning products used throughout. Bedding provided and towels provided. Kitchen and main house can handle 25 or so if needed. World class skiing and biking out the door. 30 mins between Middlebury and Bethel, just south of the Mad River Valley.
This is a place for people who want to get away from the hustle. There's no TV, no sound of a road, no artificial light dimming the stars, no bars close at hand, etc. There is fast fiberoptic internet though. For those that really want to leave the city behind and enjoy the solitude, beauty, and wonder in an authentic rural Vermont setting.
House is 8 bedrooms 4 of which have lofts above which are connected to and open to the bedroom below. They are individual lofts, some with queen some twin. Happy to email a floor plan to you. PRICING HERE IS FOR HOUSE ALONE.

Also there is no microwave. Or television! But there is 40+MG up/down fast fiber optic internet and a pull down projector screen - bring a projector!

Family ski vacation
We used this house for a family ski vacation with two families with teen kids. The cooking stove was wonderful for cooking large meals and even has a griddle. It was really nice to use the wood stove and we were thankful that wood was provided. I really loved hiking the trails on the property and enjoyed the frozen pond which is very close. Owner's dogs who would visit us occasionally which was fun. The owner does live only a few hundred feet away in a separate home. I would describe the home as old farm house. It does have some quirks that you would expect from the age. The beds were a little springy and the washing machine would sometimes give us an error msg but everything worked out in the end. We skied Sugar Bush and Killington which were a about a 30 min drive. It was a lovely place to spend a week away from everyday life. Thank you for the stay.

Great place to stay with a large group
We enjoyed our stay! The farm house was perfect for our group of 4 families, which included adults and young children. There was plenty of room to spread out, play board games, eat meals and even watch a movie using the projector screen (we used the WiFi and streamed movies). Ben was very accommodating to any concerns or questions. The kitchen was great and all the amenities were good. The fireplace kept us toasty and warm and was a perfect gathering area. We would highly recommend the farm house for a large group looking to enjoy the peace and nature of Vermont.

Why they chose this property

It's an amazingly pristine yet accessible place that we've looked to find for 15 years.

What makes this property unique

The remoteness, quietude, accessibility, beauty, light, ponds and rolling fields with access to the best of the center of Vermont's Green Mountains is hard to find anywhere else. And we looked!
