Great house for families!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time. Wonderful location! The only thing we would say that needs improvement is some of the windows need shades.

Otherwise a great comfortable house!

Great family getaway

  • 4 of 5

This was a terrific home for a family reunion. Very spacious and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. The house was in a little need of some TLC, but that is to be expected for a rental, which allows pets. The kids commented that the hot tub was dirty. Also there is no recycling, which was unfortunate, as the garbage accumulates quickly with a full house of 12. Bottom line - This is a terrific house. Everyone had a great time.

Thanksgiving Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our families decided we wanted to celebrate our holiday in Tahoe. This was a beautiful home, very spacious for our 4 families and comfortable to all move about and not feel on top of each other. All of our children loved the bunk bed room and the neighborhood was nice, quiet and friendly. We found great places to sled, even right out in the front yard, but just around the corner (we walked to it most of the time, 5 minutes max) there is a walking trail and national forest area that we explored, with a giant hill to sled down that was completely private. Of course we timed it perfectly that it snowed the night we arrived and a little the next day with the sun coming out for the rest of our trip to enjoy. A lot of kitchen amenities, blenders and such, double ovens that worked amazing for our big feasts and the wonderful heated floors!!

We had one problem with a leak in the upstairs bathroom but they sent some out right away and helped with all of our needs! Extremely close to downtown South Shore, shopping, restaurants and grocery stores. Would LOVE to stay here again!

Excellent for large family gatherings

  • 4 of 5

Our extended family (total 12) met in Tahoe for a Family Vacation. We looked at several houses and decided on this one as it was Pet Friendly and, for us personally, an added benefit was that we had relatives who lived just a block away, making it very easy for them to visit! The house was very spacious with plenty of room for everyone to gather. Had a lovely patio area large enough to accommodate all of us for outdoor dining. The kitchen was well stocked with pretty much anything we needed, and spacious enough for people to gather while preparing meals.

If we had chosen to dine indoors, there were two large dining tables that could easily have accommodated all of us. The Hot Tub was a hit, no problems with the WiFi - minor problem with the Refrigerator, but we called and they addressed the problem quickly. The bedrooms upstairs were very quiet - good soundproofing - could not hear any activity downstairs.

We happened to be in Tahoe during an unusual warm spell, and we discovered that not all of the windows had screens on them. Because of mosquitoes, we didn't feel it was wise to leave the windows open, so it was a bit uncomfortable sleeping for some guests the first couple of nights. Floor fans were provided in most rooms, but would have been nice to be able to open the windows to take advantage of the cool night air. Also, not all windows had full curtains, so for those wanting to sleep in, was not the best, as full sunlight would be streaming in.

But, overall, we all had a wonderful time, and would recommend this home to anyone looking for a place that can accommodate a large gathering.

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

I recently had a trip with family, mom, and my sister's family at Big Red. It was a lovely piece of property in a quiet neighborhood. The house is ginormous and met all of the needs for the 12 of us. There is a bedroom with two bunks for the kiddos and the remaining bedrooms are very adequate. We loved the big kitchen and dining area when we wanted to play games, eat, or just be together.

We also liked the fact that it is away from the busy-ness of downtown Tahoe. Within a 15 minute drive you can be in South Lake Tahoe. That was a plus for us. We enjoyed being able to get away at the end of the day. Big Red also has a nice game room above the garage that was used a lot. All in all, this is a great house to stay in. Great accommodations and lots of room - beautifully decorated. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks Jill!

Spacious, welcoming, lovely home.

  • 5 of 5

Our group of four families, including 7 adults and 4 children, spent our first trip to Tahoe in this home and it was absolutely amazing. The ambiance was warm, welcoming, and comfortable, and we all immediately felt at ease in the home. The bedroom layout was perfect for our families, as all the adults were able to sleep in a king or queen bed, while the older kids enjoyed staying up late whispering in the bunk room. We were able to prepare all of our meals in the large eat-in kitchen, which comfortably accommodated all of us for breakfast and dinner each date. The home was clean, well-maintained, stocked with all necessary basics - as well as many convenient, unexpected extra amenities - in every room, and there was nothing we needed that we couldn't find. We contacted the property manager once to ask a question and received an immediate response. The location on a quiet residential street was ideal for us, as we enjoyed playing in the snow around the house and tossing a football back and forth in the nearly empty street in front of the house. We had a great time sledding at Adventure Mountain, which is located only about 10 minutes away, and hiking at Emerald Bay State Park, which is about 25 minute away. We're already discussing coming back to this home again next year. Thank you for helping make our first trip to Tahoe such a happy and memorable one!
