Cute and cabin like but in need of maintenance

  • 3 of 5

The cabin was in a beautiful area of the woods, remote and clean. The size of the cabin was nice and all of its amenities worked. However, a train runs by it every hour through the night, the bathtub had a rusty water stain the walls were paper thin, and the wiring in the cabin was awful. One switch started an electrical fire in its socket when we turned on the light. They fixed that, but even afterwards the lights flickered when we turned them on, smelled like burning wires, and several switches shocked us Whenever we turned them on. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but would have liked it more if the cabin was in a better state of repair.

Owner's Response: Hello Anthony! Thank you so much for staying with us and leaving this feedback. The bathtub stain has been taken care of, although the high mineral content in the water can occasionally leave traces of sediment behind. There are no more electrical issues at the cabin, and we have even installed a hot tub since you last stayed! To my knowledge (staying in the area personally many times), the train may run by once or twice at night but never 8+ times - although I understand it feels more frequent when it wakes you up! Thanks again, we are always grateful to receive honest feedback about our guests' experiences. All the best, Mysty Mountain Properties
