The County is fast becoming known for its vibrant artistic community. Talented artists and artisans from all disciplines have been setting up galleries and studios and making the County their home. From painters to glass blowers, photographers, ceramists and sculptors, the list is diverse and doesn’t stop with the visual arts. Theatre, music festivals, and clubs like the Dakota’s Hayloft Dancehall, Active Arts Studio, The Agrarian, and The Acoustic Grill where many Juno award winners have played their stage, all join in making the arts community an important part of life in the County for both tourists and residents.
Cycling and running have also grown in popularity in the County. The relatively flat terrain and quiet back roads makes both not only safe but a great way to sightsee. Annually, Wellington hosts The County Marathon with its 42.2 km run. If bird watching is your thing the Prince Edward Point Observatory has trails mapped out at Long Point and Point Traverse. Picnicking, hiking, cross country skiing, ski-doing, sea-doing, whatever your interests, visiting the County is the perfect rural setting to unwind and get away from it all.
