Welcome to the Santa Cruz Cabana! This is a cozy beach cottage is on a quiet downtown street and has a huge backyard and many amenities. Ideal for a family, this 1908 earthquake cottage has connected bedrooms to keep the little ones close at night, and space for them to play in the back after a day at the beach. The house includes a hot tub, beach cruisers, wet suits, body boards and much more. The Cabana is located a stone's throw from downtown Santa Cruz and the Warriors basketball arena, and is walking distance to the Boardwalk, The Wharf, Cowell's beach, West cliff drive, The Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary Museum, and Depot Park and Soccer field. It is a short walk to favorite local restaurants like The Saturn Cafe, Zachary's, and Hula's Island Grill.

The house has 2 bedrooms, a living room, a dining area/bar, a fully stocked kitchen, a large outdoor patio with grill, outdoor seating, a hot tub, hammock and Tiki bar. Includes high speed WiFi, a flat screen TV with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. It is a fully stocked house which includes all towels, linens, paper products etc. We include beach amenities such as beach towels, chairs, umbrella, wagon, cooler, boogie boards, various wet suits, and 4 adult beach cruisers.

Santa Cruz is famous for surfing and the boardwalk, but Santa Cruz is also blessed with more state parks than any other county in California, has 29 miles of beaches, hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails through magnificent redwoods, one of the oldest wine growing regions in the state, incredible fresh seafood and abundant local organic produce and a farmer's market every day of the week. Ride a bike through wine country, paddle with the sea otters and sea lions, go whale watching or fishing for salmon or halibut. Ride the roller coasters, catch a wave, touch a 1000 year-old redwood tree, or just walk on the beach. Whatever your favorite activity is, you can likely find it in Santa Cruz.

We love the cabana and visit at least twice a year. The yard with its hot tub is great. Convenient location to all Santa Cruz’s activities.

Perfect home away from home for us!

This was the perfect place for my sister and our two 13 year old boys. The place was spotless and well equipped for hanging, soaking, cooking, etc. Hot tub was clean and hot, bikes were in perfect working order, with locks, and the kitchen had things like olive oil and spices...those things that are really silly to buy for a few days of cooking. The house is old with some quirks, but very well kept. It is an easy stroll to the boardwalk, walking paths, stores and restaurants. The hosts were absolutely delightful and accommodated us when we really needed it. Our kiddo broke his foot right before traveling and we needed some extra support.

Great little cottage for a family

This is great cottage, for a family with small kids. We were 4 single adults and it might've not been the best space for us since the space felt small and the layout did not lend well for comfortable sleeping. The top bunk is hard to get into, with no headroom for an adult to sit up in bed. One of the bedrooms is a room that you need to walk through to get to the shared bathroom and the back bedroom, offering no privacy. The living room has a small table and one 3 seater couch, so not a huge living room to hang out and watch a movie comfortably. The backyard was lovely and we used the hot tub. I'd say if you're not super picky about sleeping arrangements, or you're not using the inside of the house much, this is for you. We were trying to relax in the home and this did not work out super well for 4 adults on vacation.

Cute house, fabulous backyard. Very friendly owners. This house was a wonderful find for our October trip. Just the right size for us, family of 3 and nicely located to the beach, the boardwalk, and restaurants.

Our family moved to Santa Cruz years ago looking for a nice place to settle down and raise our daughter. Having lived in the big city for decades (San Francisco and Chicago), we wanted a tightly knit community, with all of the amenities of a big city, and of course a killer location. We couldn't be any happier. Santa Cruz is amazing.

Why Paul & Kate Winkler chose Santa Cruz

We have a child and know how difficult and expensive it can be to travel with kids and the logistics of getting a family to the beach and back with all the required equipment. So, we wanted to provide a family friendly place for people to come and experience all of the great things in Santa Cruz while providing everything you need for a day at the beach and a wagon to stuff it all in for the walk. We are walking distance to Cowell's beach, the Boardwalk, the Wharf, West cliff drive and downtown. We have provided all of the fun amenities that a rental should have for families (bikes, boogie boards, wet suits, beach chairs, hot tub, etc). All of this for the cost of a hotel room with much more to offer.
