We loved the Garage.

  • 5 of 5

We’ve traveled to Mt. Rainier every February for the last three years for our Valentine and Snowshoe getaway. We’ve rented a different cabin every year. The “Garage” is without a doubt, the nicest cabin we’ve stayed in, not only in Ashford, but anywhere else as well. It was nicely stocked with the basics; Coffee, Tea, Cocoa, etc. It has a very comfortable bedroom and living room. The kitchen contained everything required to cook meals. All the creature comforts were there. We went snowshoeing Sunday morning. Upon our return that afternoon we discovered the entire neighborhood lost power due to a tree falling on a power line near the highway. Power came back on for about 30 min before going out again for the rest of the night. When traveling, we always try to plan for emergencies by bringing emergency lighting. We used Solar Lanterns (Luci Lights) for the rest of the night. The cabin has a fantastic free standing fireplace, so keeping warm was not a problem without electricity. We will definitely reserve this cabin the next time we visit Rainier. Last but not least, this was the cleanest cabin we have ever stayed in, everything was spotless!

Perfect cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I came out to The Garage for a two nights to enjoy the snowy landscape of Mt. Rainier. The cabin had everything we needed to be cozy, warm, and happy. The wood stove was a real treat. The kitchen came fully stocked; the place was very clean with good lighting, a comfortable squashy couch, and cute woodsy minimalist decor. The short drive into Mt. Rainier National Park makes this a great destination for outdoor adventures.

About Tye & Erika

Tye and Erika split time between Seattle and Ashford. Tye is the Ops. Manager for locally based International Mountain Guides and Erika is a Photo Producer in Seattle. Together they travel quite extensively having visited 6 of the 7 continents. They have a German Shepard named McKenzie who is a little long in the tooth these days but she still gets around alright.

Tye & Erika purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Tye & Erika chose Paradise Estates

We bought this property to give us a base camp in Ashford. We love to hike and wanted to place closer to the mountain. This cabin also gives Tye a place to crash when he's at work in Ashford. Hopefully others can enjoy our cabin when we're not out there having fun on our own.
