Our stay in the apartment was amazing. Everything was just as described, except with more personal touches. Dana was helpful and quick to respond to messages. It was just a short walk to the streetcar; we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go! The property was extremely clean and cozy. My daughter absolutely loved the balcony, and stayed out there almost the entire time we were there. The french doors were an added bonus because the weather was amazing. We left them open in the evening and enjoyed a nice breeze while we were relaxing after a long day spent in the city. I would highly recommend the property, and will definitely stay again.

Great location, nice accommodations

  • 5 of 5

The full balcony is the central feature of this small but well furnished apartment. It's ideal for sipping coffee in the morning or a cocktail in the afternoon, or enjoying a meal al fresco. The streetcar stop is a short block away, as are good cafes, bars, and markets. The furniture is stylish and comfortable. The large shower was a nice surprise, although the water pressure was weak and it took a while for the hot water to warm up - not unusual in an old building in the Garden District. We enjoyed looking through the collection of New Orleans-themed books and got some ideas for our own walking tour. A really nice place to spend a couple of days!

Just as presented

We rented this cute apartment for two nights for parents' weekend at Tulane. The owners are quick to respond to every question/email and were wonderful to work with. The apartments is in an older, historical building but has been renovated with a nice understanding of the good bones of the building. There were plenty of towels, enough toiletries for a short stay, coffee for the coffee maker, etc. Nicely appointed. The location is perfectly halfway between going downtown to the French Quarter and heading uptown for exploring the Garden District, Audubon Park, etc. you are within walking distance of both Magazine Street and St. Charles for the streetcar. If it's your first time to NOLA, it is within a few blocks of Commander's Palace restaurant, and the nearby above-ground cemetary. It's a little too far for quick access to Tulane (a 4 miles drive or streetcar ride), but it was a lovely rental - one we would consider using again.

About The Owner

We have been married for over 20 years and love everything New Orleans!!

When were not working, golfing or playing tennis, you will find us at the beach with our 3 rescue mutts!!!!

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2007

Why The Owner chose Central City/Garden District

As an interior designer, I've always been fascinated by architecture. One of my favorite types of architecture is the Greek Revival so when this property came up for sale and it being in the heart of the Garden was a no brainer! We had to have it!!!

It has huge gallery balconies, 12 and 14 foot ceilings, original marble fireplaces...this property just oozes historic charm!!!!!

What makes this apartment unique

Location, location, location!! You can walk to almost every point of interest in NOLA!

1/2 Block from St. Charles Ave and the streetcar line.

4 blocks to Magazine St. We are less than 2.5 from French Quarter, WWII Musuem, Audubon Aquarium, Entergy IMAX, Harrah's Casino, Shops at Canal Place, Outlet mall, etc

We are less than 1 mile from Morial Convention Center
