About this property

PineTime Cabin: Luxury 3bed/2bath hm In Tonto National Forest Pine, AZ Sleeps 9*

This year round cabin is 3 bedroom, 2 bath 1829sqft house is located about 90 minutes drive north of Phoenix in Pine, AZ elevation is 5,448 feet = 20º cooler year round. Pine is about 13 miles north of Payson and has all you might need in a home away from home but with all the serenity, tall pine, & starry night views the city is missing: central heating & air, cathedral ceilings, covered deck, fully stocked kitchen, laundry room with full size washer and dryer, ceiling fans in every room. Amenities include Netflix, wifi, Directv, HBO, clean linens, and towels. Picturesque views, quiet street, tall pines, wild life (deer, elk, squirrel, birds, etc.) Property has an alarm system and includes a security camera inside on top of kitchen wall pointed at the entrance. Once the alarm is deactivated so is the camera.

NOTE: Thermostat is locked at 72°F due to a past guest changing settings causing AC & heat to run simultaneously which fried the motherboard and disabled both. Cost us $$$$ to fix. If 72° feels too warm or cool, there are fans and space heaters throughout. But if you want it adjusted to a different temperature during your stay just text Jennifer and we will remotely make the change for you.

The upstairs bathroom has a jacuzzi tub (sadly only for one but man is it relaxing), a separate shower, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap. The upstairs master has a king size bed, some empty dresser drawers, and closet with hangers. The living room has leather couch, love seat, and chairs that are being restored. The upstairs dining area has table and seating for 6. Folding card table & 4 chairs in laundry room.

The garage is off limits.

Downstairs you will find a second full bathroom with towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap. Also downstairs are the second and third bedrooms. One with a queen bed, empty dresser, and closet with a 5th twin mattress & hangers. The other has 3 twins with a 4th twin on floor trundle plus travel crib & pack-n-play in the large walk-in closet.

Stairs required to get to main level and downstairs bedrooms.

The kitchen has pots, pans, silverware, utensils, knives, 12 large dinner plates, 8 medium plates, 8 dessert size plates, 8 cereal bowls, 6 coffee mugs, 4 wine glasses, 8 pint glasses, 4 tumblers, electric oven/stove, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, hand held mixer, mixing bowls, toaster, blender, crockpot, regular coffee pot, and an electric water kettle. Coffee, tea, ketchup, mustard, & basic spices provided.

The deck has a couch swing, 3 Adirondack chairs, round patio table with 4 chairs, and a propane BBQ grill.

We do NOT provide air mattresses for extra guests.

There's a regular coffee pot with reusable filter and an electric water kettle. Coffee, tea, ketchup, mustard, & basic spices provided. Propane BBQ grill. I try to keep it full but if it ever runs out the cost to fill to use is on you. The gas station across from the hardware store does refills. It cost me $9 to refill when it was completely empty and swaps are about $20+.

There aren't any alarm clocks in any of the bedrooms because you're on "Pine Time" (aka vacation).

There is NO trash service at Pine Time cabin. Please pack out whatever you hauled in. The Chevron gas station (toward Strawberry) has a $2/bag dumpster if you don't want to haul it home.

You may want to bring your own:
• food (there's always excess ketchup, mustard, & mayo in fridge)
• artificial sweetener if you use it (there is sugar and honey)
• paper towels if you use those (there are plenty of towels)
• paper napkins if you use those
• folding camp chairs for sitting around the fire-pit.
• pack-n-play (none here yet)
• toothpaste & toothbrush
• shaving razors
• graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate for campfire s'mores

Pine is a small town with a population of about 1,900. Shops, restaurants, bars, ice cream shop, & even a hardware store. Plus a Walmart, chain restaurants, etc are in Payson only about 15 minutes away.

Acres of hiking & biking trails, waterfalls, swimming streams, boating, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, & golf all very nearby.

HOUSE RULES:
1) Leave the cabin CLEAN & as you found it. If kitchen and bathrooms are not clean when you check out you will be charged $100 more (unless you chose Cleaning Package 2). The current $75 fee ONLY covers the cost of washing linens, towels, and remaking all the beds so thoroughly clean up after yourselves. If you know that you don't plan on cleaning, let host know *before you book* to get a slight discount on extra cleaning fee. This is our HOME not a hotel. In order to keep the fees low you ARE required to leave it clean. Respect the house as if it were your very best friend's.

2) Respect the neighbors and wildlife. Sound carries a lot farther here in the woods. That's my nice way of saying NO loud parties or music.

3) Remove shoes at the entrance whenever possible.

4) Garage & locked cabinet in laundry room are off limits.

5) Do NOT cut or put hot pans on counters or tables. There are cutting boards, trivets, and hot pads provided.

6) NO SMOKING INSIDE. If you smoke outside use extreme caution and take ALL evidence with you.

7) There is NO trash service so you will be required to take it ALL with you (including bathroom trash). Aluminum soda/beer cans can be dropped in recycling bins at Ponderosa Market and Pine Elementary school has a paper/cardboard recycling bin. There is a $2/bag pay dumpster at the Texaco in Pine.

8) Do not change TV wiring. Weird that we even need to say that but a past guest did. (?)

9) The trampoline, playground, & fire pit behind my home belong to my neighbor and they've asked me to inform all guests that it's "private property & off limits" even if they appear to be away!

If these rules aren't followed we will place a claim against your security deposit.

• Check-in time is 3PM*. CAN be earlier if arrangements are made PRIOR to your stay.

• Check-out time is 11AM* but can be later IF arrangements are made PRIOR to your stay.

*=NOTE - if you check in the same day someone is checking out your check in time may need to be later to give time to reset. If no-one is checking out the day you check in your check in time can likely be earlier IF you ask and receive approval.

• INSTANT BOOKING IS NOT ALLOWED FOR 7+ GUESTS. Any number of guests over the 7 MUST be pre-approved by owner PRIOR to booking and in certain circumstances the extra person fee may be waived.

Lovely cabin in Pine, AZ
We really enjoyed our stay at Pine Time! The cabin itself was very roomy, with soaring ceilings that made the place seem even more spacious. Everything was very clean and tidy, and all the supplies and amenities were well organized and easy to find. They've also got newer appliances, which we definitely appreciated. The owner is very friendly and responsive, and really took care of us. We look forward to our next stay at Pine Time!

The cabin was perfect and we had an amazing time!
The owners were great - oganized and attentive. I’ve been going to Pine for many years and have stayed at several different properties over the years. This cabin was among the best. It’s in a perfect location and it’s in immaculate condition. There is everything you could possibly need right at your fingertips. One of the best features was the wonderful wraparound deck, what great views! We will be back soon.

Wonderful stay!
The house was just wonderful for our family. The boys especially loved the bunk beds. I was hoping for more of a yard for the children to play in but we found that the only yard space belongs to the neighbor behind. Otherwise our stay was just wonderful!

One of the nicer rentals
Overall nicely appointed property in convenient location with some of the more comfortable beds we've found in VRBO properties. Beds alone would warrant returning. Located somewhat close to neighbors, but with 2nd floor living and surrounded by tall pines felt plenty private. Easy check-in and check-out. Quite a few amenities (coffee, condiments & SPICES, wifi, Roku, grill, well appointed kitchen, central A/C, etc.). Well maintained inside and out with pleasant and comfortable furniture & decor. Love all the bears! Plenty of room for a family. There were only two of us for a short visit, but were also checking the place out for future family trips and it would definitely meet our needs. Only drawback is cleaning upon checkout, which for our 2 day stay was no issue at all. If we were staying a week with more than 2 people, I'd prefer to pay for cleaning service to come in behind. Definitely will consider this property again.

Convenient, clean and relaxing!
Thank you so much for sharing your home away from home with us. We were very impressed at how clean and well stocked the house was. Jennifer was extremely responsive in all of our communication. We truly enjoyed being able to relax on the hammock outside and listen to the pine trees sway in the wind. We can't wait to come back!

About the host

Host profile image
Husband and I are both Phoenix, AZ transplants (him from MI, me from AK) but have both lived here for 20 years so we are officially acclimated. No, that doesn't mean I like 110º weather. It means I won't die in it. I still VERY much prefer our 9 months of awesome over our 3 months of YUCK which is why we recently bought our Pine, AZ cabin. The plan is for it to be our exclusive summer home, but as we all know LIFE (especially with 3 kids) gets in the way of "plans".

Our goal is to provide you with a quiet, trouble free stay. Please do not hesitate to contact us via phone/text with any questions or concerns.

Why they chose this property

Our guests say it best:

Amy said: “PineTime Cabin exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway in gorgeous Pine, AZ. Host responded almost instantly to all my messages & went out of her way to make my stay as comfortable & easy as possible. The house has every amenity you could want, & everyone staying commented on how comfortable the beds were and how great the overall setup was. The location is perfect as well - a mile from "downtown" and trailheads. I hope to stay there again sometime soon.”

Mike said: “An experience of a lifetime, especially if you're escaping a big city. Nestled amidst a beautiful pine forest, with tranquil winds through the trees, families of elk grazing through the yard, a serenity of a silent night sky brilliant with stars, what more could anyone want? Oh yes, a gorgeous, large, & homey luxury house to cuddle up in! Host is a wonderful host & gets my highest recommendation. The little town of Pine has all of the bare essentials one might need, & Payson isn't too far off if you absolutely need to have a big mac or something. But then again, you can't dream of getting away from it all & expect it all to be there when you arrive. A perfect balance of living amongst nature & enjoying creature comforts. I wish I was still there! PS: Be sure to visit the Pine Fudge Shop. Phenomenal!”

Sergio said: “PineTime is my family’s favorite place to stay up north! I’ve stayed at PineTime 3 different times already & have always, as expected, had the most amazing experience. It’s a beautiful place. We saw deer everyday roaming through the yard. We had rain one of the days & it was beautiful. We loved to sit in the balcony swing and relax. The evenings are so quiet and serene. We cooked almost every day in the kitchen that had all that we needed. Movie nights & board games were part of our entertainment. Everything was outstanding & lovely. Host is always so attentive. Excellent!

What makes this property unique

A true luxury "Glamping" experience. The feel of a home away from home with added luxury and cabin amenities. The cathedral ceiling and giant picture windows looking out into the Tonto National Forest make PineTime Cabin special indeed.
