Always Enjoyable

  • 5 of 5

Another visit to VMI brought us to Misty Mountain Alpaca Farm. The owners Ralph and Sandra are always so pleasant. The scenery is beautiful. The alpacas are fun to watch and love to be fed carrots.

Access from the highway is very easy, yet it is away in the countryside where it is very quiet. The cottage is neat and clean. A really nice place to stay!.

If you're a VMI family this is perfect for a visit. So much better than staying in a hotel room. The opportunity to cook a meal for your cadet and BR's and just hang out on the deck and relax. 100% recommend!

Owner's Response: What a wonderful review especially since it rained most of the time during their visit. We always appreciate it when our guests are thoughtful in cleaning the dishes and stripping the beds. The Swensons were return guests and left us a "yummy" gift from the shore.

Wonderful quiet weekend away and loved the Alpacas!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful weekend away at Ralph and Sandra's farm. It was my girlfriend's dream to spend time with alpacas up close. The house we stayed in was clean, in great condition and beautifully decorated (especially the alpaca pictures). They left us a nice welcome message as well as a bag of carrots in the fridge so we could feed the alpacas. We enjoyed talking to Ralph and Sandra and learning all about the animals. We also walked around the historic district of nearby Staunton and visited the Frontier Culture Museum, and stopped by the Cyrus McCormick Farm in Raphine. Highly recommend Ralph and Sandra's farm for your weekend getaway!

Relaxing and Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our quick weekend away at Misty Mountain. The hospitality, accommodations, views, and alpacas were all just perfect. We hope we can come back again very soon to share with our daughter who loves alpacas. She is away at college but wants so much to visit Misty Mountain.

Wonderful!

Everybody should visit this beautiful place! The cottage was spotless, the nature breathtaking and the alpakas the sweetest animals alive.

Thank you, Sandra and Ralph , for opening your farm to the public, so others can enjoy it, too.

Sincerely: Your 10/27-10/29 visitors

Beautiful, peaceful paradise with adorable alpacas in such a friendly little town!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect getaway for my husband and me with our two small children. We were so grateful to find a place that had rustic atmosphere, natural beauty, and no minimum age requirement for children. (Our kids LOVED the alpacas!! What amazing animals!) We had complete privacy and impeccable hospitality from Ralph & Sandra. Can’t say enough good things about this place. We absolutely plan to return!!

Owner's Response: What a lovely family to have as visitors to our farm. We so enjoyed the children and their fondness for our alpacas. And, what a treat to have home made pumpkin soup and chili...yum yum. Thank you. We hope to see them again soon! Ralph and Sandra

Alpaca hideaway

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful location and accommodation! Nothing is more serene than to be on a farm in the rolling hills of Virginia. Located near many schools, this is a great find. The accommodations were great, clean, fresh, and comfortable. The hosts were fabulous and went out of their way to make us feel at home. We will be returning many times in the future!
