SONOMA COUNTY TOT CERTIFICATE 870N

OUR AREA WAS NOT AFFECTED BY THE WINE COUNTRY FIRES. OUR HEARTS GO OUT TO ALL OF THOSE WHO HAVE LOST HOMES AND BUSINESSES HOWEVER WE ARE UNABLE TO TAKE GUESTS FOR LONGER THAN ONE WEEK STAYS

Located in the Mayacama Mountains separating the Napa and Sonoma Valley “Wine Country”, Wildridge Cabin allows you a stay in “the country” only minutes away from shopping, wine tasting and some of the Bay Area’s finest restaurants.

Those interested in hiking, cycling and kayaking will find miles of trails nearby and access to rental kayaks on the Russian River during the summer season.

Once a one room hunting cabin, Wildridge Cabin is over 100 years old, but has been lovingly updated for the convenience of our guests. The cabin has two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and one with a full size bed. Bathrooms feature both a handicap accessible shower and an antique claw foot tub. The kitchen is fully outfitted with dishes and glassware, pots and pans, a full sized refrigerator; everything you need to prepare meals and is also wheelchair accessible. Just outside the living area is a large screened porch. Relax here after a day of adventure and listen to the sounds of nature, or dine under the stars on a warm summer day.

Antique furniture and historic artifacts add to the cabin’s charm.

The cabin is at the end of a private road and shares the 8 acre property with only our home up the hill from the cabin. You have full access to the property which includes several walking trails. Wildlife abounds!

About Laura Waldbaum

Ray and I enjoy all aspects of nature. We love hiking, and fishing and especially backpacking to places where we can really get away from it all. Ray grew up a city boy but has become a true country gentleman. He does the wood cutting and splitting and all the tractor work around here. I grew up in a rural area and just love every aspect of "Country living" , especially my chickens, orchard and vegetable garden.

Laura Waldbaum purchased this cabin in 1969

Why Laura Waldbaum chose Santa Rosa

Ray's parents, Herman and Anna, bought this property to use as a respite from their hectic lives in Los Angeles. They would come here to relax and recharge. The cabin has been used as a refuge by our family for almost 50 years. When our Kids had grown and moved on to their own lives Ray and I moved up to the property full time and built a new house up the hill from the cabin where we now live. We hope that our guests will enjoy a few days in the cabin as much as Herman and Anna, Ray and I and our children and grandchildren and we love to share it.

What makes this cabin unique

This property offers the best of two worlds. Because it is at the end of a private road we feel secluded here. We can't see any other homes or hear any neighbors. Yet we are 15 minutes from town with many first class restaurants and other amenities.

Cute, cozy, and super close to wine country!

Laura made us feel so welcome and the property was beautiful. It was a little tricky to find but we came in after midnight. Our bed was so comfy and we loved having coffee with the wood stove on in the morning!

Great location off the beaten track. Sweet cottage. The absence of wi-fi was wonderful.

Peaceful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Cute, quiet and quaint. Saw a family of deer, stars galore and fresh mountain air. Loved our stay and we will be back. No clocks, no internet and no cell phone signal= A true disconnect from work! Laura was awesome and greeted us with fresh eggs and veggies from her garden. The cabin had everything we needed for a great Napa vacation. Visit The Model Bakery for the English muffins and visit The Sunshine Market for a huge selection of cheeses (and groceries).

Sweet rustic cabin; excellent hosts

  • 4 of 5

Quiet and remote with the amenities that we needed for a couple and one child. Everything worked just great and Laura was super helpful. Wish we had more time to walk around the property.

Historic cabin in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

Although we were prewarned by the owners that the 107 degree plus heatwave in Sonoma and Santa Rosa during our stay might be difficult to deal with and offered us a refund, we decided to come any way. We were able to cool down the cabin with the bedroom window AC and fans once the sun set and outside temperatures dropped into the low 70's. It was nice to sit out on the screened porch and enjoy the cool evening breezes and almost full moon while enjoying a glass of Sonoma wine. The inside of the cabin is well maintained and comfortable, with all necessary amenities. Our hosts were great and provided us with fresh eggs and home-grown vegetables. All in all, we had a very nice time during our short stay at this hideaway.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the lovely complements, and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. The heat we experienced while you were here was unprecedented. We broke all recorded heat records in Santa Rosa and also throughout the bay area. Even the city of San Francisco, known for its cool summers, was 106. You and your family were good sports and hardy souls. Hopefully you can come and see us again when the temperatures are more comfortable.
