Rustic mountain condo close to town with private balcony
average rating of 3.0 based on 1 reviews

Good location, okay unit but not ideal.

  • 3 of 5

My husband, nanny, 1 year old daughter and myself stayed at this unit for 5 nights. The location is nice. It's across the street from one of the bus stations, so it's an easy walk to get a bus ride to the lifts. When finishing up skiing, it's best to take the 4 o'clock run all the way to town, then walk 1 block back to the unit. There's a storage closet outside the front door to store skis and snowboards, but the unit is on the second floor so we just kept our gear in the trunk of our car. There are 2 sleds in the storage closet, we bought a third sled and left it in the closet. We went sledding in Frisco but there's another good sledding hill in Breckenridge at Carter Park. There are several jacuzzi's to use- 2 of them are outdoors adjacent to the parking lot; there are 3 more jacuzzi's plus and indoor/outdoor pool a short walk from the unit but we preferred to drive. They are nice to use. The unit has a gas grill on the patio with a propane gas line connected to it so you don't have to worry about not having any gas to grill. There's a washer and dryer in the unit (albeit a bit old).

Those comments were the positive things I have to say about this unit. There are several negatives (or recommendations for the owners).

The kitchen needs better equipment. The knives need replaced or at the very least sharpened. It's difficult to cut even a tomato with their sharpest knives. There's no dish soap, dish-brush, sponges, or counter top cleaner. We had to buy these products and we left them behind for the next guests. There aren't any condiments either. Not even salt and pepper. We've rented several homes from VRBO in the past and have always had condiments and various kitchen items to use. We had to buy our own spices, salt and pepper, ketchup, aluminum foil, etc. It may have been cheaper just to eat out after getting all of these basics.

The living room is nice. There are a few books to read in the tv cabinet. There are 2 board games as well. There's checkers, with missing checkers pieces. And there's Taboo. I recommend the owners supply more board games, a puzzle, and a deck of cards. We enjoy playing a game or two on vacation.

Bedrooms- We all slept horribly all 5 nights. The mattresses are on the firm side and all the pillows need to be replaced. The pillows are lumpy and yellowed. There's 2 king size pillows with standard size pillow cases on them.

Bathrooms have a little mold in the showers. There's 1 (old) hairdryer for use

Owner's Response: Thank you for your detailed review! We appreciate your perspective and feedback. We are glad you were able to navigate the easy ski-in option at Park Place. We hope you were able to take advantage of the on-call guest shuttle we provide as well as an easy option to get to a chair lift. Park Place is only one block from Main Street so getting downtown is easy as well. We are glad you enjoyed the hot tubs and were able to use the private grill on the deck. The deck has wonderful south-facing views of Baldy Mountain and town, so grilling is not much of a chore!
