Come relax and play in the National Forest during the day and spend the evenings by the BBQ and outdoor fire pit we share with our best friends and next door neighbors. Get your feet up and your favorite drink in your hand. This is it! Closer to Heaven than most properties at 10,000 feet. Relax, your home! Breath deep and enjoy the clean mountain air!
Our listing is far from perfect and has lots of 'character'. Please understand we are not a $2 million dollar home decorated to perfection at the base of Jackson, Aspen or Steamboat Ski Resorts! Our home started life as a log hands residence. It has been remodeled and additions have been made to it adding to its charm and uniqueness.
Don't worry about the Great room addition between the garage and the home dripping water from the metal ceiling(an area once outside) on occasion once the Great room has been heated up to 75 degrees, it drips a bit, enjoy it--the flooring in the Great room is redwood--it cant hurt a thing!
Our main home features 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. It has two family rooms one on the main floor and a smaller one upstairs both with large flat screen TV's/DVD's/Play stations and Wii's and Bose surround sound.
Our favorite gathering place is our Great room with large flat screen TV/DVD full bar including full size refrigerator and sink(summer use only), bar stools, log table with seating for 8 and 2 log rocking chairs.
The gourmet kitchen features granite counter tops, stainless refrigerator, dishwasher, range, oven, microwave, seating at the kitchen bar for 2 and log kitchen table for 4.
There is sleeping in the Master bedroom for 2 in a king size log bed. Sleeping in bedroom 2 for 2 in a double bed. Sleeping in bedroom 3 for 2 in a double bed. Sleeping in bedroom 4 for 2 on a queen bed (there is also a futon in this room for 1-2).
There is a small guest cabin on our property that has the ability to sleep 3 in a log bunk bed. The guest cabin has a small kitchenette/family room. It is usually buried by snow in the winter so it is only available in the summer months. There is no heat or water to this cabin available in the winter.
There are two expansive decks for relaxing, one on the front of the home and one larger 2 level deck on the back of the home.
There is a stand alone log gazebo with log bar seating and log swing and a picnic table on the property adjacent to the fire pit.
The snowmobile trails start right out the front door as do the OHV trails and single track dirt bike trails.
We do have a hot tub but it has been drained so please dont leave feedback expressing discontent that is is not available.
Experience life at 10,000 feet above sea level! Our executive mountain home in the gated community of Fox Park is adjacent to the national forest and offers everything from hiking, fishing, on and off trail biking, atv/utvs and trails, big game hunting (elk, deer, bear, moose and sheep), fishing and star gazing to snowmobiling, show shoeing and cross county skiing all from your front door with no driving, trailering or parking your toys in crowded lots.
With in a short drive there is fishing and boating at Lake Owen, Rob Roy lake, Miller Lake, Lake Marie and the fly fishing streams; Douglas Creek, Lake Creek, Pelton Creek, Muddy Creek to name a few and countless beaver ponds.
You'll be amazed by the pitch black skies at night lit up by unimaginable shooting stars and crisp mountain air.
You can enjoy an outdoor bbq with our stainless bbq and campfire in our fire pit we share with our next door neighbor with an adjacent gazebo for shaded seating.
There are two tree houses with slides, ropes, swings and ladders for the kids and horse shoe pits for the adults.
There is direct access to the vast snowmobile and atv trail system of the national forest. There is year round access, even though we get on average 300 inches of snow in the winter.
Fox Park was an old logging community where they sent lodgepole pines down the rivers for railroad ties. One of the original mills owners son still lives in Fox Park. Tons of history! There are about 25 homes in the gated community and there are 3 year round full time households of this old logging town. It is rich in history of logging and mining for gold in the mountains streams. We know your experience will be relaxing, quiet and so enjoyable to be 100 yards from the national forest.
We will work together to offer your group an unforgettable experience.
