Rare Affordable Waterfront/waterview Condo On Silver Lake With Lakeside Pool

Bedrooms 1
Space 560 sq ft
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

One Bedroom/one Bath 1st Floor Unit in Highly Desirable Location East of Route 1

Our condo was completely renovated in 2015 and features a new kitchen, bath, HVAC, and tile floors. Located in the South Rehoboth/Silver Lake area, Newbold Square Condominiums is a 40 unit complex situated directly on the narrows of Silver Lake. It is a small (560 sq ft), one bedroom/one bathroom waterfront/water view condo that is comparable in size to a hotel suite. Since the bathroom can only be accessed from the bedroom, there is limited privacy in the bedroom. This unit is ideally suited for a couple or a family with 1 child. Adjacent to Rehoboth Elementary School with 2 playgrounds, playing fields, basketball, and tennis courts, Newbold Square has a lakefront pool that offers both sun and shade options. Walk or bike to the beach by crossing the pedestrian bridge, also known as turtle bridge, which attracts a steady flow of visitors feeding bread to the many turtles that can be seen congregating under the bridge. Once you cross the bridge, you are 3 blocks to the beach/boardwalk via Stockley St. or 7 blocks to Rehoboth Avenue, the center of town which boasts excellent restaurant options and a variety of quaint shops and boutiques. If you prefer to drive, we provide a seasonal parking pass during the summer. Newbold Square is also located less than one mile to Dewey Beach which offers live music nightly, Monday night family movies and Wednesday night campfires on the beach at Dagsworthy St. We have adult bikes available that you can use to bike the boardwalk in the morning. Feeling adventurous? Bike the Junction and Breakwater trail to Cape Henlopen State Park and the Cape May-Lewis ferry. Rainy day? No problem! Shop until you drop in tax-free Delaware at the Tanger outlets or at one of the many antique or thrift shop stores in the area.

About Kathy & Peter

We are empty nesters with grandchildren. Kathy is a school nurse in the Philadelphia suburbs and is fortunate to work at a job where she has her summers free. Peter is a transportation planner, currently working and staying five days a week in the D.C. area. We meet half way most weekends in Rehoboth Beach because it is such a vibrant community year round and we enjoy the off season almost as much as the summer!

Kathy & Peter purchased this condo in 2014

Why Kathy & Peter chose South Rehoboth

We grew up vacationing at the Jersey shore, not realizing what a gem nearby Rehoboth Beach was. It was love at first sight on our first visit in April, 2013. By July, we were homeowners and last fall we bought this unit in Newbold Square! We love both units and will plan to stay in whichever one isn't rented on any given week. We use VRBO/Homeaway every time we travel and have always had a good experience. It is our goal to make sure that you do too!

What makes this condo unique

As we explored the Rehoboth Beach area, we began to dream about owning property on Silver Lake. Situated among the multi-million dollar lake houses, we were thrilled to find an affordable lakefront condo that offered the tranquility of a water view and a lakeside pool. The back patio is the perfect place to have morning coffee or a cocktail after coming home from the beach. We also love the proximity to the beach and boardwalk. It's a beautiful, mostly shaded, walk/bike ride to the beach. It's also so flat that even i, an overweight, middle-aged woman, can bike for miles! My favorite morning bike ride is down the mile-long boardwalk, and onward along the coastal road to Cape Henlopen State Park.

We want this to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience for you. As users of homeaway when we travel, we are irked when we see cleaning and other fees attached to rental agreements so our goal is to create a comfortable and affordable experience for you. Also, unlike most vacation rentals at rehoboth, we provide linens, bikes, beach chairs, and many of the amenities that you would normally have to rent or drag from home. While we don’t expect you to clean the unit, please recognize that we will be the ones cleaning and preparing for our next guests so we ask that you be mindful about how you leave the space when you vacate.

A gem...lovely, comfortable, well-appointed, serene

  • 5 of 5

We were excited to return to this rental property and it was exactly as we remembered. So comfortable, especially the bed and bedding. It’s a beautiful, updated, well-appointed space and has everything we need for cooking, entertainment (great wireless and smart tv options), access to the town and beach, and a peaceful, quiet stay. The location on the water allows for a feeling of being tucked away and secluded while you can easily walk to more crowded and popular areas. Parking is assigned and nearby. Rehoboth Beach is a fun and lovely area to spend time, during any season. Kathy is a pleasure to communicate with and they keep the space very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the holiday decor (including a tree with lights on the patio) this visit. We’d recommend this with no hesitation and hope to return.

Another great stay...

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying in this property. Everything was just as wonderful as the first time. The property is conveniently located, clean and stocked full of supplies. Kathy’s communications and details are appreciated and make it very easy to work with her and a welcome gift of wine and taffy were a nice addition to our Anniversary! We hope to visit again.

A cozy gem just blocks from the beach!

  • 5 of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this well designed, freshly renovated, generously appointed "condo suite" on Silver Lake in a lovely quiet neighborhood just blocks from the beach and the boardwalk. Kathy has thought of everything from bathrobes to beach towels. The kitchen comes complete with dishes and cookware - even coffee and tea! I enjoyed a morning cup of tea on the lakeside patio while watching the ducks and geese in the water. Beach chairs and bikes are available for guest use too! I took a beach chair down to the beach for an afternoon by the ocean. Kathy goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable. I couldn't figure out how to work the keyless entry system and she patiently walked me through each step. I'd definitely stay again. Just right for me as a solo vacationer. Doable for a couple, but probably tight quarters for a family.

Couldn't imagine a more perfect getaway vrbo for one or two people. Place has everything you need, very well kept, walking distance to downtown and beach, yet in a very quiet community. Kathy is awesome to work with, direct access to communicate when needed. She definitely possesses great customer service qualities. Thanks for another great vacation, already looking forward to another getaway.

Early Fall Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is a unique property ideal for two! (and maybe one more little one). Lovely, calm view of the canal, lots of wildlife, truly an idyllic setting. Place has EVERYTHING you need to enjoy a visit to Rehoboth. Neat, clean, compact and ready for relaxation. Close to everything without being in the fray. Very enjoyable, our second rental and we will definitely return.
