Beautiful and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

The location of the property was beautiful and just what my family needed. With two kids in college in two different states, work and our lives going in many directions my family does not spend much quality time together. This weekend we did not leave the property once we arrived. Everything we wanted or needed was right there. Firewood was delivered, there were chairs on the porch, the house and area was beautiful and peaceful. The camp was larger that we needed but we loved it . Thank you for a lovely stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you Miranda for you review. We are glad that you enjoyed time with your family and that our property was so well suited for your get together. These busy times with children (even college age) pass very quickly and it sounds like you planned just the right stay for you all. We hope to see you again.

The property was beautiful.

  • 5 of 5

Despite the rain, my family had an absolutely amazing time. We loved the property, and the peacefulness. We were close enough to town that we were able to pick up anything we wanted, yet it seemed as if we were far from the chaos of any city. We would all return for another vacation! Thanks to Mrs. Elaine, my family felt right at home.

Private and quite

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the cabin. Plenty of room for the whole family, the kids loved the loft area. Quite times on the deck watching the sun come up, the porch area under the house was a great hang out spot. Surprisingly, the mosquitos were minimal, nothing like here if Florida.

About Ronnie or Elaine Penton

Ronnie Glynn Penton grew up in nearby Bogalusa where he then established his successful law practice. His childhood was filled with family recreation on the Pearl River which included many a fishing and hunting trip with his Poppa Carl, brother "Punk" and many cousins from Penton, Smith and Wheat clans. An avid sportsman, Ronnie now enjoys sharing this love of nature with his children Maryanna and Alex.

Ronnie's wife, Elaine, is a native Texan with her own career in the marine industry. She enjoyed the companionship of her six siblings in a close knit family that also grew up on the water enjoying the associated sports. While Elaine did not also hunt, her culinary skills excelled as she was the camp cook during many family deer hunting trips. Elaine's children, Elisabeth and Warren, also greatly enjoy water sports and hunting.

Both Ronnie and Elaine love sharing the spectacular outdoors with family and friends.
