Fun, relaxing activities for romantic couples, foodies, cyclists, adventurers

Indulge yourselves with luxurious amenities and the peaceful, quiet settling of an exquisite garden, surrounded by vineyards, bamboo, and redwood trees. Relax in the intimate hot tub, refresh in the huge walk-in rain shower, dry off with decadent, warm towels from the heated towel rack. A queen-size Dux premium mattress, as used in the very finest hotels, promotes a deep, restful sleep. Flowers, a plate of tasty snacks and a bottle of chilled Sauvignon Blanc will be present for you on your arrival.

The chalet is filled with light from the windows looking over the gardens; colorful Impressionist and local art adorn the walls; red oak hardwood floors provide beauty and warmth. Central air conditioning is at hand if needed.

Chalet Elaine is nestled on our 3-acre estate, populated with palms, bamboo, redwoods, and colorful tropical plants and flowers. Our estate was recently featured in the sold-out 2016 Spring Garden Tour.

Our neighborhood is near the top of Harrison Grade in the banana belt, a moderate microclimate suitable for growing many tropical plants, and usually above the occasional fog that might cover low lying areas. Cooled by the moderating ocean breezes, it doesn't have the extreme heat and cold variations of inland areas or the humidity of river areas. Surrounding us are vineyards, farmland, and country living, with a high representation of artists, musicians, intellectuals and those in the healing arts.

The Russian River Appellation is among the best growing region for Pinot and Chardonnay, which attests to the many top wineries (and wine tasting opportunities.) The Foodie scene is unsurpassed, with a broad selection of great restaurants. Entertainment abounds, a beloved Farmer's market takes place every Friday afternoon in Occidental during the summer, with many others in the area as well. The adventurous can ride a zip line through the local redwoods.

Should you desire a massage, or simply have peacefulness in their Japanese garden, the Osmosis Day Spa is first rate and just 10 minutes away in Freestone.

Doran Beach among many others is wonderful for a day by the ocean, nearby are wetlands for birding, and the headlands over Bodega Bay invite a spectacular hike - bring binoculars for whale watching.

The nearby village of Occidental is a treat. Do spend some time walking along Main St to discover good restaurants and taverns, an organic grocery, and interesting shops to browse through. At night you'll usually see lots of people having fun.

The town of Sebastopol offers the Rialto movie cinemas with special art and music features; nearby is the new Barlow district with wine tasting rooms from top wineries, restaurants, local coffee house, and Tibetan art. The park, across from Whole Foods, holds a popular farmer's market on Sundays; Main Street is a fascinating stroll of music stores, New Age shops, bookstores, coffee houses and restaurants. All of these form an easily walkable nexus downtown.

For those who just want to snuggle in, the entertainment system includes Comcast Xfinity X1 with voice command, and premium channel providers such as HBO and ESPN. AppleTV 4 provides additional internet choices such as iTunes and Netflix. ChromeCast 2 and the Samsung 46" internet-enabled HDTV widen your programming choices. The audiophile sound system includes a NAD 24-bit amplifier with Gallo Acoustics speakers. High speed 200 mbps WiFi is available.

We provide Nespresso coffee + espresso, teas, and condiments. For your cooking enjoyment, the kitchen includes a GE Profile convection microwave, a FlashExpress infrared toaster oven, a Breville juicer, a crock pot and other implements. First rate local restaurants are all nearby.

The dressing area has a spacious closet with several drawers, and a built-in ironing station is at hand.

A whole house soft water system includes a decalcifier, UV sanitizer, and charcoal activated final stage filter for pure delicious water out of every faucet. Our 2-person hot tub is cleaned and refilled with this fresh water for each guest stay, and the water recycled to our gardens after your stay, so no harsh spa chemical treatments are needed.

PV solar panels grace the roof, promoting high end luxury with ecological sensibilities. A ClipperCreek Level 2 32A EV charger allows you to recharge your EV; Tesla owners can fast charge on our 80A Tesla charger by special arrangement.
