Like stepping into another time and place

  • 5 of 5

I love staying at the cottage. I relax and feel like I am somewhere special as soon as I step through the front door. I love the look and feel of a rustic, cottage on the water, and this one does not disappoint. I have stayed several times and always appreciate the attention to detail that the owners put into making the cottage cozy, inviting and serene.

Owner's Response: I truly appreciate the extra time it takes to log back on and leave a review. Having a family return again and again is the biggest compliment we can get! With warmth and gratitude, thank you! Judy and Andreas

The Canal Cottage is wonderfully special!

  • 5 of 5

Everything about the cottage exceeded our expectations. Judy is lovely. And, while we were slightly concerned about privacy because of the cottage’s proximity to her home, those concerns were completely unwarranted. Judy was so gracious and helpful and respected our privacy. The Cottage does not have a DVD player and when I asked about one before our arrival, Judy had her son hook up a DVD player they had in storage! The cottage is well-stocked, has a great layout, is sweetly decorated and is so well located. While it truly is less than ten minutes from the Trenton Train Station the Cottage feels remote. I can go on and on. Read all the reviews - they are accurate.

Love this charming home!

  • 5 of 5

Have returned for the second time to this lovely location. The home is so charmingly decorated and the stone patio over the river is the perfect location to gather around the firepit and roast marshmallows! Judy is such a considerate host. Can't wait to return!

Beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for our annual girl's weekend. Judy was great to work with and the lines of communication were always open. She gave us a quick tour of the beautifully decorated house. The beds were all very comfortable and there was plenty of space for the 5 of us. The patio overlooking the Delaware River was the icing on the cake. I would highly recommend this property.

Everything you need

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I stayed at this home for a girl's weekend. It was perfect for us. We each had our own room with very comfy beds and quality linens and also each had our own full bath. This was a definite plus! The home was immaculate, well maintained and while it feels historical for sure, it is also modern in all the right ways, such as the bathrooms. It is well located near to all of the wonderful things that Bucks County has to offer. The patio overlooking the river is wonderful. We sat out each night in front of the fire pit and took the time to relax and catch up. I think the most impressive thing about this home is how well appointed it is. Judy is so incredibly detail-oriented. She has thought of everything and it is abundantly clear that she has put a lot of thought and care into creating a fantastic experience for her guests. I cannot even begin to list all the little details that she has thought of and provided. So thorough! It makes such a big difference when you feel at home and have all the info you need right at your finger tips. This home is extremely warm, welcoming, peaceful and comfortable. Feels like you're staying at a friend's. Would absolutely return.

Wedding Weekend Quiet Zone

  • 5 of 5

More than expected. This is a beautiful 'cabin' with beautiful peaceful views. And a grocery store less than 1/2 mile away. The best place for us to be.

This house has very comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms, comfy seating in living room and the most fantastic stone patio with great views. The kitchen has every tool, dish, pot or pan you would ever need AND is stocked with coffee (and fixings) and a few surprises so you aren't left with nothing to 'get you going'.

Great hosts who are steps away. And our guest number changed as we got closer and closer to the wedding date. The hosts were patience and understanding.

Loved this place.

Why The Owner chose Morrisville

Our neighborhood is called Morris heights, or The Graystones. At Graystones, located at what is now the borough’s northeast corner at Crown Street and Highland Avenue, William Penn met with members of the Lenape Indian tribe under a white oak tree in 1682 to negotiate the first land-purchase survey in Pennsylvania. The site was named after the extraordinary outcropping of gray bedrock which protrudes from the ground at the northwest end of the site, this guest house is built on this outcropping of stone! We are steeped in history here.

This is probably one of the most unique back deck properties up or down the Delaware River! You will leave refreshed and inspired. Hot summer, dip in the river; fall, enjoy the leaf peeping; winter, cross country ski on the canal path. All seasons offer any visitor a beautiful stay...we knew we would live here before we even stepped out of our car.

What makes this lodge unique

Spectacular stone terrace overlooking the river is "THE" feature... sit all day, enjoy outdoor massages on the deck , or a dinner under the stars! Spa treatments for extra costs can be arranged in the home. A farm-to-table chef/staff is also available for an extra fee that will prepare organic farm-to-table meals delivered completely prepared right to the guest house!
