About the property

Quintessential Cozy Cabin Surrounded With Trees, Wildlife And Mountain Views

This privately placed cabin sits on 20 acres, backs up to timberland and national forest and has barely a visible neighbor. From the front door, you can hike, snow shoe, cross country ski or just play/sled on the big hill on which it sits. Built from Douglas Fir trees from the acreage, the cabin is the perfect combination of funky rustic and delightfully elegant with touches such as down comforters and fine dishes/wine glasses. Enjoy coffee on the front porch glider or grill some locally caught fish on the back deck grill. Enjoy the peace of the wilderness or venture into ever expanding trendy Bozeman.

About Colette Zygmont

I am a chiroptractor living full-time in Austin, Texas however my heart lives in the mountains. I bought this cabin 20 years ago as a place to escape to, unwind, and recharge, especially from the Texas heat. It doesn't get any better than the cabin and all it offers. Frequently, I just stare out the window and watch the birds, the majestic trees blowing in the wind and the assorted wild creatures. (weasels, ermine, deer, elk, and the occasional brown bear). Being able to hike from the front door and staying out of a car is one of the best kept secrets of this cabin. There is endless hiking and mountain biking out the front door.

Colette Zygmont purchased this cabin in 1995

Why Colette Zygmont chose Bozeman

In 1995 while learning how to snowboard, I started fantasizing about how nice it would be to call the Bridgers 'home'. Every day I searched the real estate pages until I found my funky little cabin, on 20 acres, backing up to forest land. It has been the best purchase ever and is very sacred to my heart. I have decided to share it because the cabin does better when humans live in it rather than keeping it shut down. I come back to Bozeman 4-6 times/year to decompress, connect with nature, bond with the locals, and enjoy the ever-growing City of Bozeman.

What makes this cabin unique

Due to its central location, it is easy to get to Yellowstone National Park, enjoy the art community in Livingston, explore Paradise Valley or make a bigger trek to Glacier. Multiple hot springs lure one out to soak away stress and unwind. (Bozeman Hot Springs, Norris Hot Springs, Chico Hot Springs, and my favorite, The Boiling River.)

Myself….I try NOT to get in a car for as long as possible and hunker down to restore and renew my batteries. There are about 8 birdfeeders viewable from the house. I fill them and sit back to watch the kingfishers and orioles. But others love to explore the area as there is endless adventure. One of my favorites is Hyalite Canyon, just South of town where there are at least a dozen waterfalls and endless hikes.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This couple could not have been more delightful. Highly recommend them if you're lucky enough to have a quiet nook to share!

We endearingly nickname Bozeman Bozangeles as the fine dining, quaint coffee houses, wine bars and breweries are popping up every week!

Cozy, secluded cabin in a beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

The pictures really don't do this cabin justice. It's a quiet, cozy little place in a beautiful location and my four friends and I really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is well stocked, the movie collection is great and updated, and there are many books and CDs to choose from too. It's a great place to escape for a little while and recharge, but still close enough to Bozeman that we could enjoy nights out as well. A group of deer stopped by to visit us at least once a day, which was fun to watch, and the scenery around the cabin is peaceful and gorgeous. The owner was very kind and thoughtful during our correspondence and was quick to respond to any inquiries we had. We would definitely consider staying again in the future!

Owner's Response: I am so grateful for your tolerant attitudes. A guest having to endure an episode of Montana's frozen, bursting pipes is an owner's nightmare. So glad we found a plumber to fix it and that you all took it in stride and embraced winter in Montana. It's almost worth the quiet and beauty. Come back any time!

Perfect Representation of Local Area

  • 5 of 5

I don't want to spoil the intricacies of the home/cabin but you will love it. The owner has great taste and plenty of little well-thought out surprises. Everything has been well-planned and if you notice anything that needs to be considered, this is the owner that would listen and take it seriously. Truly a remarkable role model for how someone should respect their property and more so their guests. The cabin is 30-45 minutes from Fairy Lake and 30-45 minutes from Bozeman. I love how the weather and scenery changes for each drive.

Beds are so, so comfortable. So much character in the unit. Plenty of light and views. Perfect for any season.

A beautiful mountain get-a-way

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was absolutely stunning- even better than the pictures! We had a larger group of 6 adults and we fit perfectly. Our trip included a long-weekend skiing at Bridger Bowl, which was only a 10 minute drive down the mountain. The kitchen was fully stocked with condiments and spices which made cooking easy (and tasty!) I highly recommend this place for people of all ages, especially if you want a peaceful mountain vacation.

The owner was also wonderful at communicating before, during, and after our stay and gave us peace of mind during the whole process.

Really Good Rental

  • 5 of 5

Place was clean, quiet and stocked with various sundries like salt and pepper, things you don't think of when you rent a place like this. Well decorated with the owner's touch. The owner communicates really well. We loved the location up in the mountains with great views. Very quiet and secluded. Will probably rent again.

The cabin is remote, 29 miles from the City of Bozeman, an easy, beautiful drive down Bridger Canyon. The cabin itself shouts seclusion and privacy, promoting one to stay put and quiet the mind with the wonders of nature and enjoying the surrounding wilderness and the multiple activities in your 'back yard'. This place is fantastic for the fishing accessibility (both fly and regular), for winter sports and for cycling and mountain biking. Activities either out the front door or very close by....
