About this property

Solo travelers get a discount. No smoking & no pets please!

Please note: This is a no smoking home & property!!

I only accept reservations for a minimum of 2 nights.

For those coming to Quincy to visit friends/family: Please note that the home is not available as a gathering spot. It is only for registered guests. I can make an exception but we need to talk about it ahead of time.

Creekside is located in the Sierra Nevadas, along Highway 70. It's 2.5 miles from East Quincy and 6 miles from downtown Quincy.
Stay here and relax to the sound & sparkle of the creek. The home is surrounded by the Plumas National Forest. It is also one of the most economical places to stay in town, for this is a town where a spartan motel room costs about $90.

WHAT CREEKSIDE HAS: A friendly creek that runs year-round and also runs right past your back deck. It has deer and foxes and turkeys and squirrels and wonderful songbirds and, yes, there’s even a chance you’ll see a California black bear but, in fact, it isn’t likely. In the 15+ years I’ve been hosting, only 2 guests have seen a bear. I want you to know it’s possible but unlikely. FYI: A California black bear’s behavioral traits are NOTHING like a grizzly bears.

WHAT CREEKSIDE DOES NOT HAVE: These are stumbling blocks for some guests, so I want to be clear:
1) It doesn’t have television reception.
2) The internet is not as fast as that of a city but videos can be watched without buffering!

So, for your entertainment there are games to play and there are movies to watch on the dvd player and there is a creek to sooth you and animals to look for. I hope that’s enough for you to choose to stay “Creekside”.

Oh what a cozy stay. We loved having our happy hour wine on the chairs by the creek. The master bed was SOOO comfy! We so wanted to see a bear but all we saw was bear poop! We definitely would come back!! Thank you Barbara!

Comfortable and well appointed cottage
Very comfy beds, well-stocked kitchen, tons of seating including down by the creek, lots and lots of natural light. We had a very pleasant stay.

Creekside
Lovely spot. The house is well-stocked, all needs and more supplied. Everything works, without much effort. Nice to be next to a running creek and a bit of forest, but not too far from town. The highway sounds and occasional train did not bother us. We had a great time. Good chance we'll return.

Scenic Getaway
Barbara’s beautiful home is reminiscent of yesteryear. The rental was spotless and had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, oils, coffee, and tea… bed was extremely comfortable and it was wonderful falling asleep to the sound of the backyard creek. There are beautifully maintained pieces of antique furniture, along with a great selection of old and interesting books…quite a few games and movies to choose from. We met Barbara who was extremely welcoming and helpful. we will definitely be back.
