Brilliant, relaxing weekend

  • 5 of 5

The enchanting views of graceful trees and beautiful bay - plus the wonderful quiet and comfort in this 'little slice of heaven' gave us the perfect weekend with our son and daughter - both live afar.

The cottage is thoughtfully laid out for optimum comfort, relaxation and enjoyment and that's not to mention how well the furniture works around the plentiful windows for observing sun beams through branches and sunsets in the early evening etc. The round table was perfect for the Settlers of Catan... The sofa and comfy chairs were deep and luxurious. The beds perfect. The fire pit at the rocky beach was a lot of fun. The 2-man canoe for us was the star. Just being able to launch and paddle at a moment's whim, we went out lots during the weekend in all combinations of family members. We have wonderful memories for life.

The cottage has a warm and cared-for vibe and we appreciated being there very much. The owners helpfully leave a pass for Sandbanks but it just wasn't necessary to leave the property!

Thank you!

p.s. we didn't bring enough firewood - take lots because the pit is perfect!

when they say a "slice of heaven" they mean it! Lovely to wake up to picturesque window of the lake every morning with a coffee and gaze at the lake with the waterfowl and the scenery. In the evenings enjoyed the spectacular sunsets, and the wildlife that come for a visit.... our days were filled with wineries close by, antiques, hiking, and 5 star restaurants.... I have to comment on the interior of the cottage on how cozy and tastely well decorated , the owners ( Liz and Rob) of the cottage have certainly put their heart and soul into this gem and have made us feel welcome and want the best for their guests.... it is evident in all aspects with information on where to go to making sure the renters have everything they need for their stay.... All I can say is thank you and we will be back every year!

A great little cottage in a beautiful location!

  • 5 of 5

The bay is quiet for canoeing or swimming. And we loved spending some peaceful time in the hammock. It was a great long weekend for us.

Cute place, clean and beautiful waterfront

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed swimming, canoeing and fishing at the waterfront. The kids loved their small, but cute, bedrooms and we all liked the open concept living space and the pastel colour scheme throughout. We did not like the fact that other cottages were so close by, but at least the community was quiet. Our only complaint: we were surprised to find the cupboards stuffed with food of past renters. Not just condiments either; there was a wide variety of expired food that should have been cleaned out before we arrived. Otherwise it was lovely!

Owner's Response: We find these reviews very beneficial and a great resource as to how we can continue to best accommodate our guests needs. However, we feel it necessary to respond when the review contains untruths and false statements. Based on our guests feedback over the last couple of years we have provided basic items in our cupboards, sugar, salt/pepper, assorted spices, coffee/tea, cooking oils etc. and these items are and have always been shared. Occasionally guests will leave food and drinks behind and we always dispose of these items as soon as we are made aware. In this particular incident the items in question were two boxes of Kraft Dinner and a single serve box of Fruit Loops breakfast cereal that had expired. To state that the cupboards were "stuffed with expired food" is a huge exaggeration and not something that we would knowingly allow to happen. While we are always thankful to those who bring potentially negative issues to our attention we feel it is imperative to challenge any false statements that can negatively affect our guests overall experience. We take matters as stated above VERY seriously and always take whatever steps necessary to provide a clean, safe and relaxing environment. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this oversight may have caused you and we can assure you it won't happen again in the future. Rob and Liz Hamilton
