About the property

2 bedroom 2 bath cottage, steps to pools and private access lake front

Our cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished to make you feel like you are in fact in a modern day cottage. The cottage is spacious and bright, and all on one level. The open floor plan combines living space and kitchen in one, with a large closed off porch area that is furnished with an outdoor year long dining set.

The master bedroom has its own ensuite while the 2nd bedroom has a set of bunkbeds and a trundle bed perfect for the children. The living room also can sleep 2 extra people as the couch turns into a double bed.

The living room has plenty of seating available as well as a 48" TV, cable, internet, NETFLIX, dvd and blueray player. The cottage also comes with a geothermal heating and cooling system and a HE washer /dryer.

Beside the porch area, you can sit and relax on the paved, open deck area equipped with chairs, propane BBQ and a propane powered fire table. From here you can look out to green landscaping, with trails to the magnificent clubhouse, beach, and boat slips as well as catching a glimpse of the lake.

On those hot days in the summer, take a quick stroll to the Recreation Complex and take a dip in the heated outdoor pool, kids pool or one of our year round hot tubs. A few steps further from there you can follow the trail to your very own private lake front access, exclusive to the Cottages members and guests, and swim in Canada's warmest lake. There is also a volleyball court adjacent to the lake as well as fire pits, and a playground.

On those chilly days in fall and winter, you may visit Mt Baldy (Oliver's new and re-opened ski resort) only 50 km away from our cottage. Visit their website www.skibaldy.com for more details. You may also enjoy a round of golf as Osoyoos boasts one of the longest golf seasons in Canada. Also, there is an abundance of walking trails, biking trails, local shopping and many more activities to enjoy during the "snow bird season" for people of all ages to enjoy!!

Winter events include Winter in Wine Country, Osoyoos Concert Series, Nk’Mip Festival of Trees and the Christmas Lite-Up. Cheer on the Osoyoos Coyotes, the local Junior ‘B’ hockey team at their home games from the fall through the spring. The nearby South Okanagan Events Centre hosts many world-class entertainment acts year-round that appeal to all ages and tastes. Several local transportation shuttles also offer entertainment excursions to concerts and casinos in the USA.

Very nice relaxing area. The space was awesome.

  • 4 of 5

Loved the cottage living. Perfect space for a getaway. Nice and clean The area was great. We could just step outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the valley and lake. Close to Oliver or Osoyoos. People were friendly and courteous.

Too bad the sun porch wasn't better heated. We had to run the heat up high just to warm it up enough to use and then it was still cool. Nothing a blanket didn't solve because we still used it alot.

Our only concern was the hardness of the beds. We are used to a pillow top mattress so it was uncomfortable sleeping for our stay. Because it was cool , the furnace was somewhat noisy but it was easy enough to get used to the sound after a night or two.

The owners were great to deal with and there everything you needed for your stay in the cottage.

Relaxing summer week

  • 5 of 5

We love staying in this condo at the Cottages. We have been for the last 2 summers and couldn't be happier. My wife, the 2 kids and I spend most of our days at the pool which has a shallow pool which is perfect for the kids as well as a deeper pool for the adults. Sometimes we mix it up for a fresh water swim in the lake at the private beach as well. There are also many wineries and restaurants to visit as well as fun activities to keep the kids busy. We love this place in the summer and the owners could not be any nicer or attentive to all our questions. See you next year!!!

Wonderful, relaxing getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at the Cottages. The development is very nicely laid out - although there are many units, they are situated in such a way that it never feels crowded. The cottage was perfect for our two families with three kids. We loved how close we were to the pool and the path to the lake. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. The owners were quick to respond to questions and were a pleasure to deal with. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Lovely holiday.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Cottages on the Lake. My only critique is one that I fault with the design and builder of the cottage. The temperature regulater seems to be located behind the wall in the master bedroom which makes a humming noise while running and sounds like a jet tub when it turns on. For a light sleeper like myself, this can be a problem.

The area is beautiful and the owners are very friendly. I also appreciate that we were able to have our little dog stay with us at the cottage.

Relaxing week at the Cottages in Osoyoos

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at the cottages and I would recommend it to anyone. The cottage beautifully decorated, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a beautiful sun room with was a blessing when the mosquito's came out later at night. It is close to the community center which has a lovely pool and two hot tubs and a short walk to the beautiful beach. We loved that it is pet-friendly and our dachshund had a blast too. We liked that it is not located in the town of Osoyoos which can become very busy and overcrowded in summer time. The views from the cottages is breathtaking. It is a short drive to the towns of Oliver and Osoyoos with a scenic route both ways alongside the vineyards and orchids. We would come and visit again !!!

Location

Car: necessary

Life at the Cottages:

The natural beauty, temperate climate, and wine country location add up to a unique lifestyle for all seasons, with unlimited opportunities for both outdoor recreation and indoor comforts. It’s always an appropriate season to curl up with a book, gather the family for Scrabble, or relax over lunch at Burrowing Owl Winery’s legendary Sonora Room. Evening brings outdoor concerts at Tinhorn Creek Winery’s amphitheatre. The Cottages are positioned between Osoyoos and Oliver, conveniently close to the shops, restaurants, and markets of two towns.

Osoyoos Lake

Osoyoos Lake is said to be the warmest lake in Canada—easy to get into, yet refreshing on a hot afternoon. Perfect for swimming, floating, fishing, and boating. Its still surface is ideal for waterskiing, yet it sees very little boat traffic near The Cottages. The calm, quiet north end of the lake is a well-kept secret, and this is where The Cottages sit, looking out over their own secluded cove. And when you crave the livelier resort atmosphere of the south shore, it’s only a short boat ride away.

The Golden Mile:

The Golden Mile describes a stretch of Highway 97 between Fairview and Road 18. It is Canada’s answer to Napa, and synonymous with exceptional winemaking. It was so named because the location, geography, soil, and climate are ideal for growing the grapes that produce truly noteworthy wines. Some of BC’s most renowned wineries are located here, including Road 13, Burrowing Owl, and Tinhorn Creek. The Cottages are located steps away from The Golden Mile, within an easy cycle of several wineries.

Hiking, Biking and Golf

This semi-desert landscape offers some of the best trails anywhere, for adventures on two wheels or two legs. Explore the breathtaking 20-kilometre ride between Oliver and Osoyoos, following the scenic Okanagan River and linking the tasting rooms of several fine wineries. For mountain bikers, the slopes just west of Osoyoos feature rustic old jeep roads and single track courses. Golfers can choose from the 36-holes at Osoyoos Golf and Country Club, the Les Furber designed Fairview Mountain Golf Club at Oliver, or play Frisbee Golf at Mount Baldy.

Winter Sports

This region is a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. Penticton’s Apex Mountain is about 95km away, and Mount Baldy is closer still. 0nly a 40-minute drive, it offers magnificent in-your-backyard slopes. A typical annual snowfall of over 20 feet provides knee-deep champagne powder for downhill skiing and snowboarding, cross country, snowshoeing, and tobogganing.
