If an alternative experience of Hawaii is what you're seeking then this is the place for you. Come experience this cute cozy cabin nestled in the woods, surrounded by tall Ohi'a trees and lots of tropical birds to serenade you. Situated on the edge of the Volcano National Park, at 2000' elevation (which means it might get a bit chilly at times), on a very private, peaceful, gated 20 acre piece of land on the Southern most part of the Big Island. Located half way between Kona and Hilo with grocery stores and restaurants nearby, 30 miles from the Hawaii Volcano National Park where you can view the lava going into the ocean, 15 miles from the famous Green Sands Beach and Punalu'u the black sand beach where you'll find Hawaiian Hawksbill turtles sunning on the sand.
The cabin has one bedroom with a queen size bed, one bathroom with plenty of on demand hot water, a complete kitchen and is completely self sufficient and off the grid - solar power, water catchment, propane appliances. Linens, dishes, pots and pans, a blender, and a coffee press are available for your convenience. Since the power is from the sun, no hair dryer, curling iron, or things of that nature can be used. There's a DVD player with a variety of movies for your entertainment. Most cell phones work here and will pick up the internet.
Smoking permitted outside only. Please no outside guests or visitors or pets.
The cabin is located in an old growth forest of native trees way off the beaten path but only a half mile to the highway for easy access to anywhere you might want to go explore. It's exactly half way between Kailua Kona and Hilo, 60 miles from either one. The cabin is 15 miles from either the Black Sand Beach or the Green Sand Beach at the Southern most tip of the USA. It's 30 miles from the Volcano National Park. Restaurants and grocery stores and post office are 7 miles from the cabin.
