Detached, private Garden Studio close to downtown and I-5

Newly renovated garden apartment in quiet, tree-filled Wedgwood neighborhood. Separate building with private entrance in completely fenced yard. Rose arbors, lush plantings, multiple patios and seating areas include a cushioned glider, marble table for outdoor dining, and a restful hammock. Our yard is a Certified Backyard Wildlife Habitat, so you may see lots of birds, including overwintering hummingbirds.

Great location (and free parking)—6 miles from downtown, 3.3 miles from the U. of Washington, 1.5 miles from I-5, 2.4 miles to the unique U-Village Shopping Center, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s, and 4 minutes' walk to the bus that takes you to the U- District, MetroLink Light Rail, and Downtown. We are also within several miles of two beautiful parks and swimming areas. Take the Garden Studio picnic basket, bicycles, camp chairs and towels for a day at the beach at Matthews Beach or Magnuson Park.

Pagliacci Pizza, voted the Best in Seattle, is in our neighborhood, as are Javasti Creperie, Zaina Gyros/Falafel, Chiang's Gourmet Chinese, Thai One On, Elliott Bay Brewery, Mr. Villa Mexican, Ravenleaf Public House, Little Dough Restaurant, Toyoda Sushi, Fiddler's Inn, Top Pot Hand-Forged Doughnuts, bakeries and coffeehouses, and legal marijuana is less than 3 minutes away.

The Garden Studio features full air conditioning and heating, complete kitchen including a starter pack of organic coffee and milk, tea, filtered water on tap, toaster oven, microwave, full stove/oven, popcorn popper, crockpot, wok, full spice rack, baking supplies, good quality cookware and knives, and every tool needed for the discerning cook. Black granite countertops, a wood floor, skylights and high ceilings create a lovely open space.

The living room has a leather sofa, daybed (another sleeping option with its own linens), Persian wool rug, 40” flat-screen tv on wheels with headphone option, Apple TV, dvd library, books, music, and games, and wireless internet throughout Studio and Garden.

The bedroom features an extremely comfortable all-natural latex queen mattress with nice-quality linens and cotton duvets, and an armoire for hanging clothes and storage. There are reading lights all over the Studio, and almost all lamps are dimmable to create the perfect ambience. Stunning natural light streams through skylights, screened windows and French doors, and blinds open from both top and bottom.

There is a new front-load washer and a dryer for your convenience.

The bathroom has a radiant-heat, mosaic-tiled floor, plush cotton towels, a glass-door shower, excellent lighting, and toiletries. Original art adorns the walls. Everything is simple, clean, bright and comfortable. We hope you enjoy your stay at The Garden Studio!

The Garden Studio has free parking in our driveway in front of the house. It is only several minutes' drive from swimming beaches on Lake Washington, scenic walking/biking trails, an attractive outdoor shopping center (U. Village), several farmers markets, and a wide range of restaurants. Nearby are Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and several PCCs, the largest consumer-owned natural food co-op in the country. Their food is locally sourced, organic, and extremely fresh. The deli serves delicious, healthy food for take-out. Try the cashew chicken salad or the cheesy chalupas.
