Just completed July of 2015; a remodeled 3 bedroom home with modern décor in the heart of wine country. The house is located within walking distance of Buttonwood Winery where you can indulge in the tasting or enjoy live music as offered on various dates throughout the summer. In addition, there are 6 other wineries within 5 miles. For those of you that prefer beer, the Boathouse Beer Garden is just a 1/2 mile south.
The kitchen has granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. It is well equipped with everything you will need including a Margarita machine. The house has been furnished with new furniture in every room including pillow top Serta mattresses for your sleeping comfort. All linens are included with rental with the exception of beach towels. The bathrooms have glass showers with jetted massage panels. The main floor living room has a fireplace and comfortable leather couch to enjoy on those cold nights. Just off from the living room is a three season room with a couch and a rocking chair where you can take in the view of the lake.
The Basement living room is set up for entertainment, it has chess/checker table, foosball table and large TV with DVD surround sound to enjoy movies or your favorite TV show. WIFI and cable are included.
The house has two decks one on each side of the house; one is covered with a comfortable patio set and the other side is open with a patio table and chairs. Next to the deck is a brand new stainless steel grill. For an evening under the stars there is a patio with a fire pit great for bonfires and smores. When in need of a nap or a peaceful place to read a book, there are two Mayan hammocks nestled between the trees.
Across the road down 50 stairs you will find 112 feet of private lakefront. A newly constructed sturdy dock great for fishing or relaxing with a glass of wine. Another Mayan hammock is waterside as well as a picnic table for your afternoon lunch or dinner. There are beach Adirondack chairs as well as lounge chairs for you to enjoy the lake front. The flat rocks that inhabit the stony shore will give the kids hours of enjoyment skipping stones. A two person Kayak is also available for those that want to explore the lake.
The house has a 1 acre lot so you can enjoy outdoor games and plenty of parking. There is enough parking to accommodate a boat trailer if you choose to bring a boat to launch at Dean's Cove (just one mile north).
We have lived just a few miles north of the rental on Cayuga Lake for the past 9 years. Living on the lake is like being on vacation every day, we wanted others to enjoy lake living/vacationing so we put our passion for re-construction to work and remodeled the lake rental. We love the area, the scenery, the wineries, and the numerous outdoor activities available.
Gary or Kimberly Bell purchased this house in 2014
We love this home in particular for the view and easy access to the lake. The yard provides plenty of space for yard games and yet the beach front is perfect for swimming, relaxing, kayaking, and picnicking. The best of all worlds.
We had a blast. The beach area was great and having the two fire pits was awesome. Just be careful crossing rte 89. Speed limit is 50 and they do go quite quick. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it. Be mindful, there are no bathrooms upstairs oon the 2nd floor with bedroooms. Basement and 1st floor have the full baths. The house is very nicely renovated.
Beautiful house in a great location.
We stayed at this property 09/09/17 - 09/16/17. The house had all the lights on to welcome us since we did not get there till early evening time. The house was very clean and nicely updated. The kitchen was well equipped with all the things needed to cook great meals. Very comfortable. The only complaint would be is the bathroom set up in the house. All the bedrooms are upstairs but no bathrooms. It made it hard when getting ready or needing to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The owners are great to work with and even let us stay past the checkout time since our flights didn't leave till later. We really appreciated that. The location was great and the lake is beautiful.. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your lovely home..
We had a great stay in this lovely house. Lots of places for everyone to sit, and an excellent kitchen. House is very clean and welcoming and Gary is a pleasure. Lake is beautiful and everything is just as described.
It is hard to add to the many positive comments made by other reviewers. We had a fantastic stay after moving my daughter to Cornell from Michigan. The house is clean and beautiful, and we enjoyed cooking farmers market produce in the large kitchen. Having coffee on the porch in the morning was a favorite daily activity.
The beach area had more sun during the day than other reviewers indicated. We spent many hours on the dock, floating on the water, and using the paddleboat and kayak. Fun places for food and fun included Creekside Cafe and Atlas Bowl (and restaurant) in Trumansburg, Cayuga Creamery, Taughannock Falls, and Robert H. Treman State Park, with a beautiful 2.5 mile trek to Lucifer Falls and "refreshing" swim in the lower falls.
We had a lot of fun at the close-by wineries, including Buttonwood Grove, Thirsty Owl, Goose Watch, Toro Run, Hosmer and Cayuga Ridge Estates with awesome pizzas from the Copper Oven. We also had a fun tasting at Myers Farm Distillery.
We loved staying here and had a wonderful visit!
The house is clean, remodeled, and fully equipped. The waterfront is across the street from the house and USA steep walk down a flight of stairs to a beautiful pebble beach with a nice permanent dock. While the stairs were not a problem for us, anyone with joint issues or cardiovascular disease would have trouble getting down to the water (my parents visited for the day and we didn't attempt to take my mother down). A nice winery is next door, and for those with boats, several wineries are accessible by water. Fishing all week was phenomenal. All in all a great week and a place I would recommend.
The home is located on the West side of Cayuga Lake, 15 minutes North of Taughannock Falls State Park. It is nestled in the heart of wine country with the Boathouse Beer Garden and Buttonwood Winery within walking distance. There are 5 other wineries within a 5 mile drive. Easy access to both the Seneca and Cayuga Lake Wine Trails. Dean's Cove Boat Launch is one mile north. For a local shopping experience one may frequent Amish shops, outlet Mall shopping or the Bass Pro shop.
Other local attractions include the many state parks with incredible water falls and hiking trails, see the gorges of Ithaca and experience the fine restaurants and theatre district of Ithaca.
